Disco
I'd prefer to get to the final and get beat 4-3 tbh.
oldtype
Newcastle fans being picky about cup wins is a bit like debating the relative merits of evian v. Perrier in the middle of the Sahara.
Decky
Do the winners get a waffa spot, or is that the FA Cup? Think so yeah.
cubaricho
I would keep playing the players that we did today. They deserve the chance to lose their spot.
ponsaelius
Do the winners get a waffa spot, or is that the FA Cup? They do, yes. Runners up no longer do, though.
Mick
After all, an extra League Cup game or 2 will result in INSTANT BROKEN LEGS of Ben Arfa, Carroll, Tiote and Barton. And Williamson. And Coloccini will get a really bad cold. I was taking that seriously until I noticed you had Tiote down for a broken leg.
pedro111
Taking into account the fact that I'd like to see us win a trophy before I die; after careful consideration, I say....yes.
Cronky
I'd keep the bulk of the side that's got us this far - but drop the ones who haven't performed - Vukcic and Lovenkrands.
Guest je85
Stick with the players we have done (+Taylor and Guthrie when fit) if we get to the quarters drop a couple more first teamers in and if we progress further full strength
Nobody
I'd keep the bulk of the side that's got us this far - but drop the ones who haven't performed - Vukcic and Lovenkrands. I thought Vuckic played very well tonight

Bringing Gosling into it as well, our squad is pretty strong right now.
NoU
Play a team to win. The guys who played well tonight will get more chances, but play a very close to best side in this cup. It's hard to imagine how much winning this cup would mean for the club.
Beren
We will get Aston Villa away in the quarters, Arsenal away in the semis and the final will controversially be played at Old Trafford.
Ketsbaia
now the good teams are going out, yes we should go for it. however if we get arsenal or man united away, i'd probably rethink that. i know we've just beat chelsea, but i dont see it happening again. I thought Vuckic played very well tonight I just don't get the feeling that he's giving his all. I can't think of a single positive, creative, forward ball that he played, either tonight or against Accrington. That's what he's there for. Maybe he needs an injection of testosterone or viagra or something. He's a good player but he needs to wake up.
Fenham Mag
We could possibly have a 2nd string like by the time the semi's come up: Krul Simpson Campbell Saylor Kadar/Ferguson Guthrie Smith Gosling Jonas Ameobi Lovenkrands Chuck in a few first teamers and no reason we couldn't reach the final. colinmk
Go for it. To change the type of team we are putting out, who knows. Whatever Hughton reckons is best is good for me.

He wasn't there to play that tonight, he was in to play the Barton role, keep it ticking over, show for the ball all the time and then play it simple when he got it. Got stuck in well for a so called 'creative' player. Did it well.
midds
Play the same team for this competition. If they're good enough to knock out Chelsea on their own park then I see no reason why Hughton should change it. Obviously if we get through the next couple of rounds with the kids then we should step it up a bit but they deserve the chance to go as far as they can. Still not that arsed about the LC on the whole though.
Nordstrom
Certainly. I wouldn't automatically put our first-teamers out though. It depends on the team which we are facing and how we are doing in the league. Can't be picky about what we win. Take a step at a time.
