In regards to Luque, its was a better performance and he did work his arse off on more than one occasion (still disappointed seeing him once or twice early on just strolling around and others running around like blue arse flies closing down), he got some very dangerous balls in but also looked scared to take on players and take the ball first time when it would have been a better option.

 

It was more promising than the majority of performances I have seen from him but at the end of the day still pretty average.

 

Better corner taker than most though!

Aye. Emre is very 50/50 with set pieces, and it was good to see an accurate corner for players to run at, not run backwards to heed!

Not sure I'd have gone near him at that point, did you see how mental he looked, you could tell the adrenaline was flowing and he almost made a major fuck-up immediately after the re-start, which could have gifted them a goal, he was that pumped. To tell the truth I was jumping around the room myself.

 

For some reason I was confident that we'd win that all the way through, even when they scored. I was sure we'd get a late goal and for once I was right.

Milner's cross was top drawer, I'm a big fan. Always leaves his man for dead and sometimes his final ball isn't the best, unlike tonight. So fuck? Rather that than Duff who can't beat his man in a month of Sundays and doesn't even bother trying to cross it.

 

Luque veered from the sublime to the ridiculous. He's got a hell of a cross on him too, but at times his decision making is atrocious. Reminds me of Robert in so many ways, the way he plays is practically a carbon copy (apart from the fact we've not seen him confident and in a good side as we did Robert). I'd be tempted to pick him at left wing on Sunday because I hate to say it as a huge fan of his, but Charlie is having a nightmare.

 

Solano added to the list of people better at RB than Steven Carr. By my reckoning, the only people we're unsure about are the groundstaff and the tea lady. Sure the waster will get his place back on Sunday anyway though.

Very happy for Taylor and Milner tonight, hopefully Steven can build on the goal and get his defending sorted, both played their parts tonight. Well done lads, also Sibierski i say it everytime but hes not doing too bad to say most of the fans laughed when they heard he signed. His hold up play is pretty immense and worked well most of the time.

Just one thought for me. Why is Martins starting position on the left, this only limits his effectiveness. He wants to be running onto things from the right, that way he won't have to change feet and cut away from goal to have a shot and more chance to shield the ball. and he often does things like he did at the end when he completely outmuscled a defender, ran a ball right into their end of the field and managed to get us a throw in keeping the pressure away from our goal.
