Hughesy
Should have been doing this ages ago. Want to see Vuckic out on loan and potentially Ranger, Ferguson and Donaldson depending on players being bought in the window.
Matt
class move, always wondered why we didnt do this sort of thing with Gateshead. Got to be better than hoying them in the reserves / under 18s. To be fair, it is only recently that they have been back in the Conference, which realistically is probably the lowest level you want to be loaning potential Premiership players. N.A.G.A.S
interesting. thought Tavernier would appear vs Stevenage, and i reckon he is capable of playing at a higher level, but it's good to see they'll both be getting football (while probably remaining close enough to train with us every so often/use club facilities). could be the start of a collaboration? N.A.G.A.S
"an initial 28-day loan period" smart move this.
Ryan_Taylor
Not bad, keep them local and give them football. Good move for us
Chris Banaloona
Seems too low a level for them to be playing at for me. Got to be League 2 at the very lowest. No difference between League 2 and Conference now
AlanSkÃrare
Apparentley Matthew Grieve has gone to Stockport as well. His contract is running out isn't it?
Heed
We lack quality in the wide areas at the minute to stretch teams, and with Nelthorpes daft sending off against York on New Years Day then Edmundsson should get a good chance to show his ability. As mentioned by others, the Conference is a completely different animal to what it was 10 years ago (last time Gateshead were in it). Then you had 1 maybe 2 teams who were full-time, now there's only 3 who are part-time. Most teams that go up in the past few years go on to reach the play-offs of league 2, and there is a raft of recent ex-league clubs struggling to get out the Conference (Luton, York, Darlington, Grimsby, Cambridge, Mansfield, Wrexham, Kidderminster, Rushden) along with the likes of Wimbledon, Crawley (Spending crazy money) & Fleetwood (Spending big money too). It's also a stepping stone for players, right-back Michael Kay who was on-loan from Sunderland for two months earlier this season has now gone on-loan to Tranmere. Colocho
Good news, this is something we should have been doing more for years. Agreed. I think one of the reasons our youth players turn out so shit is because they weren't being sent on loan.

Fenham Mag
As been mentioned , hopefully we could reach a long-term agreement with Gateshead to loan them our youngsters (No disrespect). Still not quite sure why Donaldson hasn't gone out on loan yet.
TheGuv
Really happy for Gateshead. Hopefully they can push on more with these types of players. Really hope we become their parent club and they get promoted like
Decky
Really happy for Gateshead. Hopefully they can push on more with these types of players. Really hope we become their parent club and they get promoted like Was just about to say this. It would be great if we could regularly send players to them. Would save the players having to move away and it could help a local club move up the leagues.

Spot on Heed, very little between the Conference and League 2 nowadays, and with the lack of football for the reserves lately a good chance for them to get games under their belts at a very competitive level. They'll be in good hands with Ian Bogie as their gaffer too.
