A couple of cousins of mine played against Beardsley in one of those club-organised games you can buy a couple of years ago. Said Beardsley scored 6 goals in the space of 10 minutes without breaking sweat. One of them's a decent athlete in his early 20s and said Beardsley did him for pace time after time.

So yeah, I'd play him.

'kin ell

The state of the British youth man ...

Nigerian youths on the other hand are just slow in another sense.

:papiss:

John Carver: Newcastle United boss wants 'protection from abuse'

Newcastle boss John Carver has called for more protection from the club after saying he was "abused" by fans during Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Swansea.

A seventh straight loss left United five points above the Premier League relegation zone with four games to go.

Carver was confronted by angry home fans during the club's lowest attended game of the season.

"I am not going to stand out there and be abused during the game. The club has to do something about it," he said.

"I knew it wouldn't be easy. Sometimes it is quite difficult to stand in that technical area and be abused the way I was abused without any protection from the sidelines."

Supporters have been vocal in their criticism of Carver, who replaced Alan Pardew in December, and some fans held up signs calling for owner Mike Ashley to stand down during the Swansea defeat.

Because he usually had somebody next to him who was more interesting.

Well the fans have asked to be protected from Carver in turn.

The club could easily protect him by giving him the bullet. They won't though.

Well John, you would have been protected, but 3 years ago the club stopped paying for a Policeman to be in the dugout at all times. This was because his wages for the day were too expensive...

Take it up with your tight boss
