Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "It was a good game with a lot of incidents and turning points, [but] the sending off was detrimental to us and some of the decisions went against us today. We were under pressure and we had problems to finish in the second half. It's unpredictable sometimes, and it became difficult. At 4-1 we panicked a bit. But we were a little bit unlucky too. You have to take it on the chin and look at the positives. I didn't see the sending off very well. But Barton should have been sent off too. We dropped two points, for sure.

Weren't both incidents consecutive?  ???

yes they were but when has that ever stopped wenger

theres no way he can claim ref justice, theres no excuse for letting go of a 4-0 lead ever

Can we get a gif of Harper's elbow drop please? I missed it...

Was awesome!

Could tell even in the first half we would have the chances to score. They were raping us harder than I have ever seen us raped but we were still trying (in vain) to match them at the other end of the field. While they could have had 8/9 in the first half we could have had 4/5, against the grain we were doing out best to match a far superior side in terms of pace, technique and skill.

Colo, Willow, Enrique and Nolan were the primary culprits to our horrible display but Arsenal were at their scintilating best.

We got a kiss from lady luck with the sending off and second penalty but we never put our heads down, despite some of the most horrible defending I have witnessed from us. Three defenders no where near one arsenal player in the box for the fourth was the worst.

The sending off was a major factor but it was still seemingly impossible that we would even score, let alone pull four back.

Major credit to everyone on and off the pitch at SJP today for creating one of the greatest games in premiership history. Remarkable season at SJP so far.

This result will be massive for the players. If we are to stay up todays events are monumental.

Harper 7.5 - some great stops after a shaky start

Simpson 8 - Best performance for us defensively and attacking, ran out of his skin. I dont know how much potential he has to improve but he deserves credit today.

Willow 6.5 - Cannot let go the first half, although he recovered with the rest of the team in the second and won us a penalty.

Colo 6.5 - same if not slightly better than willow really, other than not winning a penalty.

Enrique 6.5 - Horrible first half, decent second half

Barton 9.5 - what a player this guy is, announcing his new contract this week will send the club morale up again. England surely beckons, he deserves it.

Nolan 6 - yeah its harsh but I would have been tempted to sub him in the first half, he was that bad, that slow and that useless. Better second half and nearly won us the game at the end.

Tiote 9 - Even the legend got raped in the first half, a nasty game to return into but my god what a second half and what a goal, price tag is through the roof now!

Jonas 7.5 - Tireless running and was a huge player for us in the second half, he has alot of bashers on here and sometimes rightly so, but he is an important player for us.

Lovenkrands 7.5 - strange rating maybe but he really took the game and gave us pace and created some space and chances for us - madness Routledge was let go, but Loverboy was one of a few to put a good shift in all game.

Best 7.5 - Other than the fact he is thick as mince and cant stay onside his movement is decent, he worked hard all game and could have scored a hatrick and more today. We certainly saw some woeful play aswell.

Ranger 8 - Does he work better as an impact sub right now - possibly, had a huge role to play today and held the ball up really well. Has a big part to play for us from now until the end of the season. Interesting to see how he does.

Guthrie 7 - played his role, one silly misplaced part but he is an easy target for abuse on here.

Pardew 9 - Part thanks to Hughton but he has maintained and possibly improved the self belief, passion and work ethic within the team. He is blameless for the shambles of the first 30 minutes, when Arsenal are on they are on, alternately when we are shit we are utter dog shit as the Stevenage game shows. One hell of a half time team talk surely.

F*********G HELLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!  :frantic:

Took the kiddies out today so only got in the car to listen on the radio at around 65 mins into the match. Scoreline was worse than I feared, I expected a loss off the back off a fairly shitty week but 4 - 0 was depressing to say the least.

Listened too it for a bit driving to Toy 'R' us (it was a good day for the little ones) and the commentary was dire, not just about our general play but they'd obviously written off the match and were constantly talking about other games, scorlines & cutting away from the match etc. I decided it just wasn't worth putting myself through it and joined the rest of my family in the shop. When I got back in the car the game had finished but I still had it tuned to the football. Next thing I heard was "Man UTD...yadda yadda, Ferguson yadda yadda...Arsenal collapse..!!!!!!"  :kasper:

Had to wait unti I got home (a good 15 minutes later) to find out, first off had I heard that correctly (as they didn't explain what had happened), and also what did they mean by collapse, had we got a couple goals back??? when I saw that we a drawn 4-4 I was gob smacked.

I can't fucking wait to watch the highlights later, especially Tiote's 'Stunning volley from long range' should get a prime spot as well. Brilliant!

Just got in and heard on 5 Live, that this is the first time in PL history that a team has come from 4-0 down to get something out of the game.

:smitten:

Thought it had happened in the FA Cup, Man City vs Spurs but Spurs were 3-0 up at half time and lost 4-3.

Funnily enough, Joey Barton got sent off in that match before City started their comeback.

Good to see Arsenal fans react in a Wegner type way.
