I hope we get a good allocation for leeds. Never been before and could be a decent atmosphere.

Ground is a s*** tip for the most part like.

Give me a ground like Elland Road over any of these new ones that's sprung up since the mid 1990's. Was always a great away trip down there and the games always seemed to have a bit of an 'edge' to them.

End of July is the rumour. I wonder if it mght be tied in as part of a transfer deal?

Think you could be right Crumpy. Snodgrass is the name I'm hearing from persons who new him when at Livingston.

I'd definately have Snodgrass, and probably Gradel.

You'd think that we'd have a friendly or 2 at SJP??

We will, they always announce the home ones later than the away ones, usually mid july i think for the home friendly, probably against some mid foreign side, maybe we'll play Lille this season.

For anyone wanting to hit up the Orlando City match, there is a Newcastle Supporters Section in the stadium and you can purchase tickets for it from ticketmaster.com and the password for the section is "TOON"

Only been to Elland Road once and had no idea it was so far out of the city centre. Grounds relatively big but a horribly dated dump.

Is it a walkable distance from the city centre?

They put special buses on from under the arches by the station, not sure if they're free though.

http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110704/fiorentina-to-play-at-st-james-park_2281670_2386014

Newcastle United will entertain Serie A outfit Fiorentina on Saturday 6 August at St. James' Park (3pm) in their last pre-season fixture before kicking off their 2011/12 Premier League campaign against Arsenal the following weekend.

Fiorentina, managed by Serbian Sinisa Mihajlovic, finished 9th in Serie A last season and have within their ranks 47-times capped Italy international striker Alberto Gilardino and a name well known to British football fans, former Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

Nicknamed 'Viola', a reference to their distinctive purple colours, they have twice won the Scudetto (Italian Championship) and also lifted the now defunct European Cup Winners Cup back in 1961.

The two sides have met only once previously, in the Final of the 1972/73 Anglo Italian Cup competition, a match United won 2 -1 in Florence, with goals from full-back David Craig and an own goal from keeper

United last faced Italian opposition in a pre-season game back in August 2007 when Sampdoria were defeated 1 - 0 at St. James' Park.

Ticket details will be announced shortly.L
