Cajun
We're supposedly signing Kone for £5m this week Total waste of money on an average player that's nearly 30. Not a good start for Martinez. From an outsider I reckon that will be a quality signing for you. A good addition to Jelavic, Mirallas, Anichebe etc.. Jealous He'll probably do ok but he's not really an upgrade on what we have and striker is the main position we need to improve. If we had a decent striker last season we'd have been right up there competing for 4th until the last day imo. We also really can't afford to sign players Kone's age with no resale value. It's dead money. Just wait until he starts signing Spanish players not even their mothers have heard about I would prefer that kind of transfer policy if we can develop them. Yep, clubs like us need to pick up the Kone's, Bent's etc of free transfers not forking out big fees.

Ste
Kone is a threat and would be a decent option, not necessarily a starter though. Is £5m really that much dead money for Everton?

KaKa
Everton fans will love Kone. He's a huge threat, and actually scores a good amount of goals too. If Martinez goes with that 3-4-3 line up of his you might well see Jelavic, flanked by Kone and Mirallas up top. That could be deadly.

Stuy_O
Swansea to complete the signing of Vitesse Arnhem's Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony within hours, for a transfer fee of €12 million [AD.nl] Not sure how believable that is but stuck in here anyway. wormy
How can Brighton appoint a new head coach when Poyet has right of appeal? Poyet isn't head coach, he's manager. Surely his appeal will be more compensation-aimed, anyway? Not like he's going to waltz back in after and work for them.

Cajun
He's probably a good player but the highlight video I saw of his was soo average considering they were supposed to be his 'highlights'. As Interpolic would say, LOWLIGHTS more like.

BrettNUFC
We get dragged in to rumours far too easily, i think that is also part of our problem rather than pointing fingers at Ashley when other clubs sign a player who the press say we have been interested in. Village Idiot
Swansea going to start with Michu in the hole next season then. Intradesting. Personally think he's better in the Nolan role than as #9. His best trait at Rayo was always getting onto second balls and arriving late in the box, while the main striker dragged the CBs.

Not that when he's played as a traditional 9 he hasn't still dropped off. Hope he keeps his form going next season, seems an affable chap - one of many at Swansea.
