If it's the one I'm thinking of then it got turned behind by one of their players.

I think it was a shot for the bottom corner like

It did take a touch like.

Worked like a mad c*** today.

Doesn't he always? that obviously isn't the issue with him this season.... the issue is getting more of the ball and creating chances for his team mates which at the same time is a team problem as a whole.

His work rate was never in question and showed how important he is when he wasn't playing against Reading and we looked lost for majority of the game.

it was another bizarre decision.  Poor corner, but was most definitely put out by one of theirs.

Had Gardner not put it out then it would have bounced about 2 yards from the goal-line and Shola was running onto it to stab it home on the (half) volley. Cabaye's corners are generally shit but that particular one could quite easily have produced a goal.

There was a piece in World Soccer a good few months ago about corners and the relatively few goals that result from them.

Yet still, fans get really excited when their team wins one.

When was the last time we scored from a corner?

Wolves away at the start of last season. About 14 months ago.

Won a pen from one Spurs at home this year. The approach taken to that one shows the way forward....

Since that Wolves goal, Ba hitting the bar in last season's derby, striking the bar against Chelsea and Colo's effort this Sunday are the only corners remotely close to result in anything.

UEFA did their Technical Report recently and they said similar. I think they called corners obsolete, as only 27 of the 1,250 in last year's Champions League lead to a goal.

If FIFA/referees could get to grips with the all in wrestling match that corners and free kicks have now become there'd probably be a much higher ratio of success.

2% of corners lead to goals (apologies if my maths is shite), maybe we aren't THAT bad

25 of which were scored against Arsenal.
