Mole_Toonfan
Tbf he's been playing very well for us since the Arsenal move fell apart.... i just question where that Cabaye was for the last season or so. Part of it is injuries and Pardew yes but some of it is also him for not applying himself properly.

He got injured, our season went to crap. He came back, played well the team picked up. Then we sucked again for a period where he was also poor. IMO he was a top 5 performer last season. Which isn't saying much but still. Had the best goals to game ratio of any player that ended the season as a NUFC player IIRC. He wasn't good, nobody was. He did himself an injustice last season overall but to a far lesser extent than many others.
CaliMag
Didn't he also say that he was suffering from depression last year?
Smal
That's what he said, but I didn't think at the time he meant it in the literal sense.
Tiresias
Cabaye in form is among the best in the league, and has been helped this season by an improvement in players alongside him, but he himself seems to have rediscovered some urgency. Man United were mental to bid £27m for Fellaini when they probably could have got Cabaye for lest (and we'd have been totally fucked). He absolutely schooled Liverpool's midfield till that red card. Ikon
I miss the Champions League,” Cabaye told RTL. “I'll finish this season with Newcastle and concentrate on the coming months and then we'll see.
Yorkie
Fairly obvious after this summer that this would be his last season. Just gonna have to live with that and enjoy him while he's here really, especially if he keeps up the good form.
Guest
Show him the battle for 4th thread, that'll convince him.
Ketsbaia
Well he shouldn't have left the French champions for a mid-table Premier League team, then.
Zero
We are just a stepping stone, obviously
Tiresias
Fairly obvious he wanted to go in summer, we have plenty of warning so should buy the replacement in january (lol of course we won't) and if he leaves next year for a good fee he'll at least have played 2 seasons (being rather presumptuous he keeps up his form this season) of being excellent and one of being pretty rubbish, plus a ridiculous stroppy strike. I of course would love him to stay for the rest of his career etc etc but he wants the champions league we're going to struggle to keep him, he'll up his asking price with the performances this season and we should survive him going, provided we sign someone with creativity... I think the strike thing and last season made me a lot less attached to this guy, he's absolute quality but he doesn't love the club and doesn't want to stay. Yep, it's a horrible way to look at things but when we aren't in the champions league or even Europe for the matter, when this situation starts to occur it's a case of enjoy them whilst they are here and feel privileged that we get to watch them week in week out for us. Starting to feel the same way about Remy.
Wallace
I will be delighted if he stays to the end of the season as I was worried that he might leave in January which would cause us problems as when he plays well the team tends to do well. He should be motivated enough to keep performing for the rest of the season for both the World Cup and to ensure a move to a Champions League club. His was poor last season and no doubt this put clubs off. From the outset, I never really expected him to stay for more than 3 years because by the time his contract would up for renegotiation, his age would be a factor for Ashley. Guest neesy111
Inevitable really, least we have 8/9 months to find a replacement for him....

Disco
Well he shouldn't have left the French champions for a mid-table Premier League team, then. Didn't bother him when a nice pay increase was likely to be on the table in front of him.
The College Dropout
Tbf to him he's better than mid-table Prem club. When Cleverley & Fellani play midield for Man Utd. he should be looking at top 6 at least. If we really pushed and aded a couple top signings we could challenge in that space. Conjo
Anita promoted to starting 11, Bigi promoted to bench thus no need to spend on new replacement?
Tiresias
Anita isn't as creative and doesn't have the goals, don't get me wrong love Anita but not a like for like replacement. We were meant to be eyeing up that Hughes at derby weren't we?
