He had an amazing game, he was highly praised by Arsène troughout the entire game which is a worry imo...

Arsene on commentary? :)

On every France game's actually.

Still not sure if he will be here after January but hopefully the World Cup will keep him here until the end of the season as he knows he needs to play regularly to keep his place and that is the one thing we can guarantee him which the top teams can't.

Arsenal have midfielders for days, Cabaye is one of the last players they'd need from us

They are lacking a CB and ST. However, Cabaye is more talented than Arteta at least. Flamini too. But since they have both of them he's not really needed when they have bigger issues.

is he?

Tbf he's been playing very well for us since the Arsenal move fell apart.... i just question where that Cabaye was for the last season or so.

Part of it is injuries and Pardew yes but some of it is also him for not applying himself properly.

Tbh he wasn't that bad last season. Was pretty decent at the start of the season. He got injured, our season went to crap. He came back, played well the team picked up. Then we sucked again for a period where he was also poor.

IMO he was a top 5 performer last season. Which isn't saying much but still. Had the best goals to game ratio of any player that ended the season as a NUFC player IIRC.

He wasn't good, nobody was. He did himself an injustice last season overall but to a far lesser extent than many others.

Cabaye in form is among the best in the league, and has been helped this season by an improvement in players alongside him, but he himself seems to have rediscovered some urgency. Man United were mental to bid £27m for Fellaini when they probably could have got Cabaye for lest (and we'd have been totally fucked).

He absolutely schooled Liverpool's midfield till that red card.

Fairly obvious he wanted to go in summer, we have plenty of warning so should buy the replacement in january (lol of course we won't) and if he leaves next year for a good fee he'll at least have played 2 seasons (being rather presumptuous he keeps up his form this season) of being excellent and one of being pretty rubbish, plus a ridiculous stroppy strike.

I of course would love him to stay for the rest of his career etc etc but he wants the champions league we're going to struggle to keep him, he'll up his asking price with the performances this season and we should survive him going, provided we sign someone with creativity...

I think the strike thing and last season made me a lot less attached to this guy, he's absolute quality but he doesn't love the club and doesn't want to stay.

Fairly obvious after this summer that this would be his last season. Just gonna have to live with that and enjoy him while he's here really, especially if he keeps up the good form.

Yep, it's a horrible way to look at things but when we aren't in the champions league or even Europe for the matter, when this situation starts to occur it's a case of enjoy them whilst they are here and feel privileged that we get to watch them week in week out for us. Starting to feel the same way about Remy.
