I thought it was Obertan we were swapping for Remy? ???

Both Obertan and Marveaux have been rumored in different places...

Anyway it's just a rumor and there's really nothing credible that says we are actually offering that sort of deal.

Well apart from that Marveaux plus cash deal from months ago but other than that its more than likely rehashed rubbish.

"Newcastle have accepted Ba's deperature and are confident his replacement will be at St James' Park to watch the team play Everton on Wednesday."

Btw the full article is now up on their website but they make no attempt to even suggest at who this replacement may be. Seems odd.

Ridiculous if we let Marveaux go, it'd be stupid.

Surely they couldnt pay those wages for a bench/rotation player? Tbh I wouldnt even want Obertan to go right now.

Same i genuinely hope no one else leaves and if they have to considering Debuchy looks like coming in then i hope its Simpson.

Wonder if he'll kick up a fuss when he's played out wide there?

They wont play him out wide, he'll get splinters in his arse from sitting on the bench mind.

Tells you everything you need to know about that man that he is still happy to make this move despite Chelsea making it perfectly clear that he will be second choice behind Torres.

Plus they've got Lukaku coming back next season too.

Due to issues with one of his knees, Ba agreed to a basic weekly salary at Newcastle of £20,000 with another £20,000 bolted on top for appearances.

Hopefully that will put an end to the crap about him being a greedy bastard. Whether the figures are real or not, it's pretty clear that moneybags clubs like Chelsea and Man City operate on a totally different level to the rest of us. They'll double his wages just to sit on their bench.

Not surprised in the slightest that he's off and won't miss the 'will he/won't he' debacle every time a window comes around.

He's done fantastically well but is inevitably going to be an Anelka, working his way from signing on fee to signing on fee in order to fund his brothers/advisors/pals/cousins etc etc.

I never really took to the guy for that reason. This was only ever going to be a short term relationship and, in many respects, it's nice to just get it out of the way and move on.
