Got to expect to pick up injuries during the course of a season. It does, however, highlight the ridiculous situation we find ourselves in when it comes to having to dip into the squad when needs be. To be left without adequate cover at either CH or LB after only 4 games is out of order. Yet again we're crossing our fingers and hoping for the best. :hmm:

Not alot was said about the "supposed" bid for him was there?

I cant imagine he would of cost more than 3-4mil and would of provided good cover for both CB and LB.

I dont want to see Raylor there again after QPR. It has to be Ferguson against Villa really.

Which was the whole crux of the debate in the summer after the new number 9 issue.  Lets hope it wont keep him out too long, but we really cant afford injuries to our defenders. Two out at once and we are putting square pegs in.

Heard Pardew on the radio this evening saying that they had hoped to play him against Forest so it sounded like he wasn't planning on playing him against Villa.

Well at least the injury prevented people on here going delirious when they saw him on the bench on Sat.

"It looks like it could be a cartilage and it's not something you want when he's just come into the building. Maybe we're looking at a month out.

"He's going to have to get it cleaned out - it's keyhole surgery nowadays which is a quicker operation but it will certainly mean at least four weeks out."
