Miggys First Goal
One thing about Ashley, he brought in some handsome fuckers during his time as owner.
Rafalove
Shame. I remember him pocketing Ronaldo for Inter in the champions league semi final. Thought he was going to be something special.
TRon
Didn't realise he was still playing at such a high level. Good footballer, just not really sure he was a good full back. Always liked him regardless though, just because he was a good footballer, and we didn't have that many.
Myleftboot
Right footed left back.
Tiresias
Never sure he was really a full back, oddly maybe would work today as a pep style inverted full back coming into midfield. One of our more technically gifted players in a squad not built to suit. Always liked him regardless
Pata
Mad that he's still only 31.
Ste
Was a big fan of his then girlfriend putting the boot in on Ashley when he left.
Sima
Loved him at RW. Thanks Alan.
sempuki
Was he another one of Graham Carr's recommendations?

Was going to say Mcmanaman ruined his career with that tackle only to realise it was on Haidara . Think Santon scored a late goal in that game playing RW

Kid Icarus
He had some obvious limitations, and looked like a player that almost didn't have an obvious position, but I really liked him in spite of that for some reason. Very unique player. Hope he enjoys his retirement.

I know that's where he played, so I guess he was, but I never felt he was good in that position. I'd have loved to see him get extended time as a right back, or in the middle of the park, or as a right winger. He was a fantastic footballer but he just lost something playing left back from what I could tell. Anyway, wish him well for his retirement.
Pilko
Lest we forget: Pardew was quoted as saying by the BBC: "Davide Santon's midfield performance [against Chelsea], forget about what it looked like to the naked eye, his stats were very good, which is great news. It gives us a player we can put in there now."
SiLvOR
Really liked him. Was furious that fucking Ryan Taylor kept him out the side for so damn long. Another Pardew masterclass. Shame Santon's career didn't quite take off like it could/should have.
gbandit
Can’t believe how fucking shit the football we played under Pardew was given the quality of players he had when he was here. Santon was a player that I thought would develop further after he left us but it looks like injuries just massively hampered his game

I always got the impression he was put at left back at Inter Milan as the manager couldn't give him any game time anywhere else, and then he just became a left back. A bit similar to Hughes being a right back here because he couldn't get playing time at CB. Always wanted to see Santon getting an extended run at right back too.
