I think Stifler was trying to crack an actual joke there.Ā  It would probably have worked too, if it wasn't for the typos/every other post he's ever made.

Idiotic volunteer at the charity I work at still farting out the "to be fair to him he's put his money where his mouth is" and refuses to accept our club is run at all badly. Wow.

Ā

It's all these fans of other clubs and a the neanderthal fans in our own camp that make talking about football infuriating. I avoid the topic now. Even the latest Hitler Reacts To Newcastle Getting Relegated (Again) pissed me off, as they spoke of bringing back Carver and Pardew, implying they would've done better.

Sadly, it is always the idiotic fans that voice their opinions loudest on the internet/radio/TV.

Ā

Nothing worse than turning on the radio and hearing "our next caller is *** from Newcastle..." you just know that it'll be someone from the funny farm making a phone call just to have human contact.

Ā

Sports Direct's Mike Ashley has said he will appear before a government committee as long as MPs first visit his firm's headquarters in Derbyshire.

Ā

 It'll be like when he invited the Mirror in a few months ago - everything swept under the carpet.

Ā

Hope he dons his little high-viz again.

I think this is a turning point in his ownership of the club. Either he will actually stay out of the way, give a top class manager the resources to succeed, and the first nine dreadful years are viewed in hindsight as a learning experience (an extremely prolonged period of torture for most of us).

Ā

OR he screws over Rafa at some point in the next few years and it's so obvious to all given the parameters that have been set that it creates real anti-Ashley momentum.

Ā

Either way ...Ā  :frantic: :frantic: :frantic:

Lawro on R5 saying Ashely is much maligned, has put his hand in his pocket and that the constant turnover of managers has been the problem.

Ā

They were joking about us changing manager all the time on TalkSport too, asking for odds on Rafa being here at the end of the season.

Ā

We've only sacked one manager in the last six years.

Being City I donĀ“t understand why Ashley would like to impose his football philosophy on NUFC..

Ā

I mean our own Sheikh makes a visit about every 2nd year and mainly just walks around and have a look, his guys at the club sort out everything while hired football people manage the teams, He himself just enjoys having his clubs and is of course very popular among the fans.. Something IĀ“m sure Ashley would enjoy as well instead of the constant troubleshooting you see at NUFC

He seemed to start off like that but very quickly started appointing complete fuckwits that know nothing about football to make the big decisions. All went downhill from there.

Ashley's "football philosophy" is to advertise his tatty company to the widest audience possible whilst spending as little money as possible. That's the beginning and the end of it.
