2005 we lost 4-1 to Sporting Lisbon. Was so fucking depressed after that.

Was a terrible 4 days or so for us that.

Was that when Dyer had to go off early and Bramble was injured? Both were immense for a while in that period.

Yep. It all fell apart when Dyer had to go off (we were 1-0 ahead as well).

Same.

After that 1-0 I really thought we'd do it. Even after going 3-1 behind I was still hopefull.

I remember Milner not being able to convert a great chance in the 2nd half, too....

I think that was actually the worst holiday I've ever had. They only had the matches on in the 18+ area, no matter how much begging they wouldn't let me in even though I promised to sit dead still, in a corner and just watch on the small tv. Cunts. Kept going up to ask my dad and when he told me it'd gone from 1-0 to 4-1 I was devastated. And then the FA Cup semi after. :( Terrible few days.

It was on channel 5, we went to the pub not long before KO with the next pub being quite a bit away and they had every fucking channel apart from channel 5!

Was like the Mackem game just gone, none of the pubs opened until 12 (well a bit after), when the fuck has that been a rule?

Bloody hell. I remember listening to that game in my room whilst reading. So long ago

I went, Shearer was brilliant despite having no legs to run on.

Beat Sunderland 4-1 away on this day in 2006. Shearer's last ever goal, even Chopra scored, Albert Luque wrapped it up etc.

None of those were the highlight of that day, the deranged mackem with the corner flags was one of the best sights ever in football

Wasn't that the mackem groundsman who, when having to be escorted off the pitch, shook Roeder's hand? ;D

No the handshaker was the pitch invader who hurled his Season Ticket sleeve to the deck beside the home dugout. The groundsman took hillarious exception to being serenaded by the away fans by flipping out and had to be dragged away leaving a trail of corner flags

Cardiff semi final :(

I had tickets but my dad sold them in a huff. Because me and my brother left the 3-0 Villa defeat early and left him. We were too young to leave on our own and got grounded

Still wish i went though. The pogoing on the telly looked amazing IIRC

Journey back from that on the coach was the worst ever. Rubbish mood, traffic was rotten and I was knackered but trying not to fall asleep as I had a really bad cold & dry throat and was convinced I'd end up snoring and making a right tit of myself.
