My personal biggest gripe with VAR is how horribly it's been implemented and that it lacks a universal framework of rules for its implementation. Please don't mistake my annoyance/disbelief at the one particular anti-VAR sentiment I'm complaining about here as me being pro-VAR no matter the circumstance, as I'm extremely fed up and frustrated with the way it's been (and is being) implemented at the top level. IMO it was implemented waaaay before it was ready to be implemented, and the lack of guidelines given referees regarding how to make use of/implement VAR into their refereeing has been, and is, a total shambles.

A refereeing team from England officiating a CL match between Spanish and German teams will be utilizing VAR in a very foreign way to both set of fans, as well as the players/staff on both teams. Same goes for a Norwegian refereeing team officiating, say, an EL match between Dutch and English sides. There should be a universal framework given referees of all nations making use of VAR that they are to follow when it comes to utilizing/implementing VAR into their game, but there isn't, and it's all a complete shambles.

This is the reason AI shouldn't be as accessible as it is  Over half of those don't even make sense within their own contexts, which... I'll do everyone a favor and not go on a rant about AI's lack of ability to understand context/humor

Nah that's not that bad. Just the normal emotion any of us would feel after a late draw against our rivals. He's said that in the heat of the moment, completely understand it.

These managers aren't robots, loads of us would react like that with stakes so high. Rightly sent off obv, but it's nothing really.

Think saying things like “if we don’t win the league I’ll fucking blame you” is going to have a huge impact on a ref’s judgement in future matches. You can’t be letting someone influence an official like that

i dare you to go tell a police office to their face after they've stopped you for speeding, telling them in the heat of the moment "You've fucking stopped me?! Hope you're proud of your performance, if I don't make it home in time for tea I'll fucking blame you!" You aren't a robot, telling off the person responsible for applying the laws of the game society isn't that bad, it's nothing, really.

Whilst taken a bit to the extreme with my example scenario, the general concept runs true. The referee is in charge of applying the laws of the game if they believe they've been broken, only to get a bald-faced cunt come shouting obscenities and threats directly at their face for just doing their job.

It's bad, it's not understandable and (I hope) none of us would react like that regardless of the stakes. It's absolutely something, and that something is utterly disgraceful and a stain on the professionalism you'd want, and would expect, to see from overpaid millionaires at the highest level of the sport. That behaviour wouldn't be understandable even on Sunday League level, it's disgraceful and the behaviour of a person with the personality of a fucking shitstain middle school bully.

When I was 7, I told a police officer to fuck off, while he was walking past my mate's house. He walked me home and I got no tea. Never did it in ear shot again :)

Don’t think he was far wrong based on watching it, Oliver was definitely favouring Everton.

Well, after years of watching Klopp bully refs and Liverpool get decisions, who gives a shite. Take the rough with the smooth. It's what we have to put up with, for not being one of septic clubs, and not being arseholes to officials all the time.

This isn't really a reply to the quoted post more than it's me having finally seen a chance to post this TikTok as the response to someone actively having chosen to use Gemeni for AI purposes:

The French FA knows how to handle cunts like Slot, wish the English FA would take notice:

"Olympique Lyonnais coach Paulo Fonseca has been suspended for nine months by the French Professional Football League (FLP), following a confrontation with referee Benoit Millot during his team's recent 2-1 Ligue 1 victory over Brest.

The FLP said in a statement on Wednesday that Fonseca will be barred from accessing the bench, the officials' dressing-rooms, and participating in any official functions before, during, or after matches until November 30th. Fonseca was shown a straight red card after a review of a potential penalty for Brest - which the Brittany side were not awarded - for his "intimidating attitude," according to Millot.

"He came at me with an intimidating attitude and I decided to send him off straight away. It got out of hand," Millot told French sports daily L'Equipe."

Low scoring game where goals are absolutely massive and are the main reason people watch the sport.

Say no more. Let’s make it even harder to score and almost make up ways to rule goals out by the use of video technology

Modern football is pretty shit, TBH.

Just watching Reff Watch on TNT. The guy in VAR was going to clear the Man Utd red card for Dorgu until the assistant in the VAR booth said it was a bad challenge.

They are 100% corrupt.

Absolutely delighted VAR has extended its reach to ruining penalty shootouts, such a welcome addition to the game.

Incredible. Talk about jumping the shark.

Equally as bad, they didn't announce it in the stadium. Most fans probably thought it counted.

In a way though, that's actually great because it meant they got to experience the relief and joy of thinking he'd scored and they were still in the tie for an extra couple of minutes. They shouldn't let that be taken away from them unless they are stupid.

There were some soft calls in there for sure for them. But glad he kept his cards in his pocket for the most part.

Plus there are plenty of refs and Var that would have given Liverpool a pen for that handball. It was a nice change to have some common sense.

I don’t think the handball would have been overturned by VAR if given on field. For the Isak offside, I’ve watched it a good few times and the keeper’s movement is fluent. You could remove Bruno completely and Kelleher would have made the same dive. We scored just after so it didn’t make a difference but it certainly wasn’t as clear cut as made out, Bruno wasn’t in line of sight of the ball when it was struck, Kelleher doesn’t make any adjustments. Tellingly, Kelleher doesn’t appeal for offside and doesn't know that the Lino has flagged.

Still not sure how MacAllister didn't get a yellow by the way.  The little rat.

However all in all arguably a decent officiating performance and nothing that stood out.  I'm like Tsunami in that I don't see how Bruno is interfering but perhaps my interpretation is skewed. Glad it didn't cost us.  And that handball would've been ridiculous.

Still completely disagree with 8 minutes of stoppage time.  6 tops. Bastards.
