I'm fucked off with the result, but the notion that 11 minutes was conjured up to suit Liverpool is mad. For 9 of those minutes Liverpool were hanging on and would have gladly taken a whistle. That they scored at the death has nothing to do with officials and all to to with the universe just likes to kick us in our delicate bits more than other clubs.

Hold on. So it's more weird to think that the officials added on loads of time to aid Liverpool than to think it's the Universe being involved. 🤔😆

Konate decision is absolutely honking but they can probably (wrongly) argue their way out of it one way or another, Schar's head injury is completely clear cut and indefensibly wrong, there's no world in which play should have continued there

Schars head injury and the lack of concern from the ref should result in disciplinary action purely from a safety standpoint

 Wont happen of course.

I watched the game on Sky, who missed most of these incidents as well, not the 15 replays we got of everything Newcastle did wrong. Konate is an absolute straight red, it’s a two handed push on a player in full sprint, no attempt to play the ball, he’s the last defender. His over the top reaction immediately proves this.

Gravenberch foul potentially puts Bruno out for months if he falls in the wrong position, all of his weight is on Bruno’s leg, scissor challenges are a cowards tackle.

A few people have also suggested that schar injury was from a stray elbow, but can’t really say as I haven’t seen a single replay of the incident, thanks again sky.

Im just pleased we only play them twice a season as the coverage last night was fucking nauseating.

How the fuck with all the radios and communication they have is someone not shouting in the refs ear that schar is down?

They either need someone in the stands who can tell the ref or let medical staff on like rugby.

VAR has it's merits but it's implementation is of course useless. How they don't give a red card for the scissor tackle or the shove on Barnes? Joelinton being rugby tackled in the box, if that's the other way around you know they give it.

Good job they gave all this stuff to plucky little Liverpool as they only just managed to get the win over the line.

Weren't refs meant to be cracking down on grappling in the box at set pieces this season, or do the rules only apply to some clubs and not others?

If your only going to selectively apply var, their is literally no point in having it. The officials literally create the corruption narrative with their lack of consistency. It’s incompetence at the highest level of sport with literal millions on the line and you have a team of overweight old men calling the shots.

Is there even any uproar about this in the media? Why is it not being called out more vociferously? That’s at least a yellow in every game of football that’s ever been played and a red in probably half of games, depending on who’s on the receiving end of it. Not even a free kick and is anyone actually pushing home the point that this happens all the time with certain clubs? No one is, and no one ever will

The fucker played on until Liverpool had finished their attack and then blew his whistle as soon as we had the ball. Fucking outrageous

Think Chris Sutton referred to it as an accidental coming-together on comms. Absolute wind-up, that bloke.

I think you'll find it was simply a shoulder to shoulder. :pardspush:

He also kept going on and on about how wonderful Gravenberch's finish was despite it clearly catching Schar's foot on the way in.

In his tiny pea brain he can’t work out it’s going wide if it doesn’t hit his foot, saying that most of the sky team couldn’t work that one out either, it’s a great finish in their opinion.

there is a refereeing for Sky6 and one for the rest. even fans of Sky6 clubs dont really deny it.

But they do, on another forum I’m on, apparently we had a complete homer ref last night, that gave us absolutely everything, it’s the complete victim complex from the Scouse murderers.

All the "big teams" supporters are the same, certainly in my experience in their stadiums anyway, you get within a few feet of their players and before there's even engagement there's loads of them baying for a free kick like "how dare you actually participate in the contest," whoppers

Managed to spot one and award Man U a penalty on Sunday no bother at all. Think that answers your question tbf.

Sorry but the tiny deflection didn’t change anything and it was going in in any case.

It was a massive deflection. It was going about 1/4 of the way into the net and ended up in off the post [emoji38]

Not sure Pope had any chance still as he seemed set up wrong, but it was absurd how they were talking about the strike without any reference to the deflection.
