Didn't think that one was a pen on another look, looked like it hit him in the chest and bounced onto his arm which by PL rules isn't a pen.

His arms were up there before Schar even took his shot. I thought if the player is making himself unnaturally bigger, it can still be a penalty even if it hits body then arm. If that's not unnaturally bigger then what the fuck is?

That's got to be a penalty. Accidental or not, his body movement scoops the ball away after the initial contact and he nearly ends up holding it.

Most hand ball penalties are accidental but arms in an unnatural position for defending (they were) gives it. 

 

By the sounds of it the rule is if comes off the body o to the arm its deemed accidental, if straight on to the arm its given. If true thats fucking ridiculous.

On seeing the replay I didn't think that it was a penalty because it was more ball-to-hand than hand-to-ball.

 

Still annoying though since we lost the game and it's a decision that we've all seen given as a penalty previously, even if it was given incorrectly.

If his arm is in a natural position I'd agree. It's not, though.

The last two games decisions given for things I never knew in the rules, shielding in the Chelsea game and mutual contact for this game.

 

The fact it hits his arms at least twice in that position makes it a clear penalty, anywhere else on the pitch it is given.

If they said it wasn’t handball as it came off his chest and he had no chance to avoid contact with his arm, fair enough. 

 

Their explanation that it wasn’t handball because he was attempting to foul Thiaw though, was utter horseshit. 

 

You just know at the other end that gets given.

 

Surprised (not) Cunha’s assault on Hall wasn’t looked at, or whoever it was who lunged in on Hall after the penalty appeal wasn’t even granted a replay by Sky.
