I would usually agree but VAR was bought in to give correct decisions and on this occasion, West Ham combusting, being relegated and their disgusting fans chewing their way onto the pitch with dildos is absolutely the correct decision.

It never ceases to amaze me how rules/technology seem to work largely fine elsewhere then they make it over here and we cock it up.

VAR, semi-automated offside, the handball rule just off the top of my head for starters

English referees don't like VAR. They didn't want it before it was introduced and would like it to go away.

They want to go back to a time where they were the infallible gods of the football pitch with no one else being in a position to tell them that they've fucked up.

I'm sure that half the problems with VAR would be fixed if it taken out of referees hands.

How are you proposing to take it out of referees hands?

I’d have thought they’d love it, they may complain about the extra pressure on them but ultimately it gives them more power and it’s clear that a lot of referees love the power

I'd have former players covering VAR rather than the referee's mates group.  Former players wouldn't care about the feelings of the ref on the pitch and would probably be better at gauging fouls.

The crux of the matter is that it doesn't matter who is in charge though because it's going to be based on human interpretation so there's always going to be "errors"

That's not a bad idea in theory, the issue is that if former players' punditry is anything to go by then many of them don't know the current laws of the game and would have little desire to learn or understand them, instead defaulting to a "how it was in my day..."

Might be fun for the neutral though!

Which one of yous shagged this refs wife. What an absolute cunt. Thiaw is pushed and is not looking at the ball when his arm hits it. I can't blame Big Joe for his blowup though worried he'll be proper radge 2nd half and get a red.

Someone update the table with points lost by refs :suicide:

Fucking joke this. Officiating in this country is horrendous every game.

All about the content isn’t it. Making good decision mean fuck all when they can charge broadcasters more to cover the decisions in their programming.

Got to add on the stopping the game when we were on the attack so he could get his Comms box reattached.

It wasn't not working, it had come loose - hold it on your hand until the game goes dead man.

Also don't think Big Joe committed the foul for the free kick (but accept debatable), based on what we've seen recently it's not a penalty due to the challenge on/by DCL.

This is fucking outrageous behaviour btw. Once is bad enough but the cunt has done it twice to my memory. And then he had the cheek to offer some limp wristed apology to Gordon ffs

Seen a lot of corrupt referee performances but this guy was something else today. That moment when we were attacking and he just stopped play to sort out his "communication devices" was completely unacceptable.

One of the worst in what has been a long, continuous stretch of bad refereeing performances across the league. Something has got to be done, because it's every single week these cunts are making themselves the centre of attention
