So the referees review panel have decided that Ramsay's 2nd yellow against Man U should not have been given. And that Leeds should have had a pen against Sunderland. Not sure that follows the Mackem narrative that we get all the decisions. Spawny bastards.

Yet he’s already served his suspension against Man City in the cup when we really could have done with him playing. Fucking imbeciles.

What decisions have we been lucky with this season? The Foden one at home? We have had quite a few horrendous ones against us.

Apparently they've convinced themselves that VAR goes our way all the time. It's their way of coping.

Aye, lot of good this decision/confirmation does us now, AFTER he's served the suspension.

Bet the red card is still on his record, too.

But I don't think their decision has any impact anyway, does it? I thought it was just for the sake of record or just for the vibes.

Yes, I think it's mainly to keep a record of how well the officials are doing. Apparently there were 18 recorded mistakes so far this season which is the same as the whole of last season already.

But also slightly better than 23-24 and 22-23, when there were more.

I don't know whether refereeing is getting better or worse, objectively. Subjectively, I do think refs are relying on VAR and it's an unintended consequence of the technology, which is lowering their tolerance to make a decision.

Who, after all, wants to grab a mic and explain to a whole stadium and TV cameras that they've messed up?

If you drive one of them fancy cars that parks itself, then the chances are that when you get in a car that doesn't park itself and try to squeeze into a parking space using your own skills you'll twat the bumpers off something and kerb the alloy wheels. Even if you used to decent at parking before the fancy self parking cars existed.

Same applies to referees and lino's.

Make the fuckers park their own cars.

That's modern football for you. It's geared up for the so called big clubs to prosper and the rest of us to make up the numbers. Be that by the financial rules, on field refereeing or VAR. It's not right and it totally ruins it as a spectator sport but it's not changing now.

How has Madley been allowed anywhere near this fixture, even as 4th official where he can still influence decisions, after he's fucked us over at every possible opportunity ?

Guy fucking hates Newcastle.

And there was me thinking that was part of why VAR was brought in... to correct these 'clear and obvious' refereeing mistakes in game??!!!

Good job we still won that match then. Much like the Ramsey red card, too.... though he still missed an FA Cup tie because of that decision.
