Aye, Carroll would have controlled on the end of his knob, flicked it up for himself to do an overhead kick 40 yards in the sky, smashing it into the bottom corner. The ball would have went through the Earth's crust, through the mantel, smashing through the core, causing Earthquakes and Volcanoes to go off around the world. He's chosen a gameplan and the personnel to suit, HBA wouldn't fit into this game because the ball has been pinged from one end to the other. Totally disagree with HBA not being suited. We've looked good with the ball on the floor. We need people who can retain the ball not Ryan Taylor and Obertan passing it out to the crowd every few minutes. Get HBA on and get Best on. johnnypd Posted December 10, 2011 Share Posted December 10, 2011 HT thoughts: Really hope people see Raylor for what he is now, he gets taken out of the game so simply and quickly by just about any move, whether it be a run, dribble or simple one-two, partially because he is useless and partially because his positioning is shite. Simpson's done exactly the same job Colo does, only on the right, as he has to drift out and cover for Raylor's ineptitude and hope he can stall attacks long enough for Raylor to drift inside and cover for Simpson in turn. In conclusion Raylor needs to be babysat throughout entire games, whether it's Colo or Simpson doing it for him. Perch has been pretty weak too, and Santon's made one or two big mistakes out there that hopefully have gone unpunished, though he's also had good moments. Can't believe how well Simpson's done, mind, including a terrific block. In midfield we're being totally bossed - Gosling basically scarpers upfield any time we have the ball leaving Cabaye in there by himself. Not only is Cabaye deeper and having to defend, he's having to run around like a madman cos he's isolated. The couple of times Cabaye's had a moment to think on the ball he's forced a save and assisted a goal, whereas Gosling, for all the impressive surging runs, has flattered to deceive. Pardew needs to tell Gosling to hold back a bit more, play it simpler and, crucially, contribute to defence, which he isn't doing atm. On the plus side, he was helping to push Norwich's midfield back, which earned Cabaye some space to deliver the assist. Just harness Gosling's energy for the team rather than for his personal glory. On the wings Jonas has not been great, but Obertan, fucking hell. awful yet again. how can someone with all the good attributes he has continually deliver semi-pro level performances? He does fairly well off-the-ball most times, but once the ball is passed beyond his immediate zone he switches off. Up top Shola's been lazy, imo. seems to be in a foul mood. Would love Ben Arfa to come on but wouldnt mind Sammy either. And yes i was slagging off R.Taylor but as pointed out, he has had no protection either which we all know he needs.
