Guest palnese
Out for the season then. Rushed him back for Fulham and Anzhi, then. Well done NUFC medical team.

Disco
Bad news but at least we're playing well enough and winning without him now. It's not ideal but it's not the end of the world but hopefully he is back soon as he is easily our best game changer.

Lush Vlad
HATEM Ben Arfa is out of Newcastle United’s Europa League tie against Anzhi Makhachkala. The forward will miss tomorrow night’s game at St James’s Park becauseof a hamstring injury. Ben Arfa started the first leg in Moscow last week, which ended goalless, but sat out Sunday’s Premier League win over Stoke City. “The team news is pretty good, apart from Hatem,” said Pardew. “He’s not going to make this game. We’re trying to finalise his hamstring injury before we put him back in. “He’s had a little setback – a specialist is going to look at it. “I’ll have a little bit more news at my next press conference.” Pardew added that Ben Arfa has a chance of returning in Sunday’s game against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium. He said: “The most important thing is his welfare going forward. “It’s a slight strain – we’re checking it’s no more than that. “There’s a chance he could be involved as early as Wigan.” http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/ben-arfa-out-of-anzhi-game-and-set-to-see-specialist-1-5495204 Sounds a lot more promising, but all too familiar. I'm sure we kept getting proposed return dates after the leg break and again this time around. Only for the dates to pass Hatemless. Fingers crossed it is just a 'slight strain'. Lotus
Marveaux reeaaallyy needs to step up now. If he does then i'll believe he'll have a future here.
Mole_Toonfan
Those quotes are a bit more positive, sounds like its just a precaution.
NUFC_Chris
I would take him being on the bench at Wigan, which for me is a massive game.
Dave
Those quotes are a bit more positive, sounds like its just a precaution. Pardew changes his mind about it almost daily, I wouldn't place too much trust in what he says about it. It's right that we're being cautious if that's what is necessary, but fact is it's yet more match time he's missing.
Dokko
Might as well sell him.

I'm sure we kept getting proposed return dates after the leg break and again this time around. Only for the dates to pass Hatemless. Fingers crossed it is just a 'slight strain'. To be fair, Pardew did say that the dates were more for Hatem than the fans because he was feeling really down about his injury. He wanted to try and build him up. stozo
Have to say I love the odd person in the past few pages slagging Pardew/NUFC off for rushing him back. They're probably the same people who were going ballistic every week he wasn't in the squad. Fingers crossed he's healthy again soon!
Lush Vlad
Fair point Icke. Is he doing the same this time then? He's changed his mind on a regular basis since he's returned from France. Lots of proposed comeback dates, he's looking fit, to he's not looking fit, he needs match sharpness etc etc. I'm sure he kept changing the return date for him to just start training on a weekly basis as well! He's too positive for his own good
broony
Its annoying but its better than rushing a player back only for their legs to explode like Souness used to do. Fuck me, remember when Graeme Souness was our manager.

High Five o
FFS, this is frustrating as fuck if you ask me. It feels like he is the last piece in the jigsaw. I want HBA firing at all cylinders back in this team. It will be like watching unicorns having sex on a rainbow, just a stunning sight.
