David Icke - Son of God
Seems like he's been injured most of the time he's been at the club. He has. Problem is two of those were impact injuries that you simply can't legislate for and this seems to be a freak hamstring problem where scar tissue is causing the muscle to heal incorrectly. Nee luck. If Hatem Ben Arfa fell into a bowl of tits he'd come up sucking his thumb.

Cajun
I don't see why these levels of blame are being thrown around at the minute. There isn't much information to go on, but if he needs an operation, putting him in against Anzhi may have been a blessing in disguise. If he needs an operation now, he must have needed an operation before that game. He didn't break down, he wasn't limping, he didn't take a big knock... Whatever happened to his hamstring against Anzhi isn't enough to have caused this situation, so if there is blame to be laid, we need to go back further. He's injured. It's a big fucking problem, despite Marveuax. It's been a big fucking problem all season, we're almost a one man team at the moment, and we haven;t had that one man most of the season, and we won't see him at all it turns out. But fuck me, it's like a soap opera going on in here. We still need to win a few games, we have the players we have, lets worry about them. This, this, this. A million times this. We've got some right melodramatic wankers on here who can be up one minute and down the next. It makes it a chore to read. Having Ben Arfa will make us into a better side, but that's not to say a HBA-less NUFC is shit. The lads have done very well without him in recent weeks so lets get behind those cunts that have proven us moany bastards wrong. As for his injury attaching blame is ridiculous. He tore a hamstring and he's had complications. What more is there to say than that? Sure playing him at Anji probably wasn't perfect but considering Pardew's reticence to putting him out if he's not 100% fit I'm sure he wouldn't have been there if we didn't think he was fine. The fact we had to get a specialist in and he's advised surgery suggests that there's an underlying problem that needs sorting for him to come back 100%. Spot on. The whole Pardew/Ben Arfa thing has been a farce for quite some time now.
Dave
The news on Ben Arfa is not good. He will be assessed by a surgeon and the French football federation to determine if, as is likely, they will operate. Pardew said: “The injury has re-occurred in the scar tissue. "Do we build the tissue up again and and try to get him back that way? I think the bottom line is I just said, 'Look, let’s just forget him this year' and that way he has plenty of time to decide - him and his team and our staff - what we think is right for him. They want him to be back at his best. “He knew when he came back, I questioned his fitness a little bit, but I don’t think he was right in his head, actually. Like any injury, you need to be right.”

midds
We'll never know if starting Ben Arfa in sub-zero conditions on a plastic pitch in Moscow have contributed to this but it certainly can't have helped things. Not Pardew-bashing for the sheer hell of it but it was an obvious barmy decision at the time. Certainly a risk that shouldn't have been considered let alone taken. Never mind, just get the lad put right and get him fit. If it takes 6 months then so be it.

Cajun
Tbf I do remember the pre-match thread being up in arms about the decision to play Ben Arfa, there certainly wasn't poster after poster expressing their delight at him starting. After extensive searches on google I have found out that every player in the Russian leagues suffering from hamstring problems has had to retire or request an instant transfer due to the temperatures and England has been almost tropical recently. Pardew was also responsible for he shite weather today, the conservatives coming into power and somehow managed to give birth to Hitler despite not being born before Adolf killed himself. What an absolute bastard!

Tbh I'm not sure if it was us bringing back Ben Arfa too early for his sake or ours, he certainly wasn't sharp in that game and we would have been far better off with a proper striker up top imo. The likely hood is that it doesn't really matter when he returned, he needed an operation and it was only a matter of time before it was going to happen, if he sat las week out we probably would have just delayed the news and the surgery. Mick
Cajun in full on smug mode He's got nothing to be smug about, Ben Arfa has now made two come-backs from this injury, to have him break down twice is beyond a joke because he couldn't have been fit to return. We made a mistake the first time and shouldn't have repeated it. Maybe a hamstring injury is harder to detect than I think, if that's the case then the club may have an excuse. Well he might as well fuck off to Spain or somewhere then Players warm uo before every game to prevent muscle injuries and their body temperature is raised throughout the game, that is also physio 101.
