Tiresias
Match practice was what tonight gave him.
Yorkie
Decent run-out.
Fenham Mag
Just put your foot through it ffs, terrible effort. Messi must be doing it wrong then.
Tiresias
If it'd gone in everyone would be saying how great a finish it was, the keeper was quick out with room behind, he was entitled to go for it imo, albeit he didn't disguise it well enough
Mole_Toonfan
Clearly not fit and should have scored but good to see him again and good for him to get some minutes under his belt.
Ketsbaia
First game in 3 months, out of position, on a plastic pitch. Wasnt a nice situation for him but he did ok.
nufc4eva
Probably should not have played. looked very rusty, can't wait to see him back up to speed though, him and Sissokho getting at them
Mole_Toonfan
Probably should not have played. He needed a game at some point tbf, he's got 60 mins under his belt now which should help him and the team going forward.
Ishmael
Cannot overlook that he was played out of position.

True, just looked so far off it, may have been better bringing him on rather than starting him
Tiresias
I think this game will have helped him, he won't start this weekend mind
Cajun
Felt sorry for him, must be frustrating knowing what you can do but not being able to do it because you are getting up to speed. Good run out for him though
binnsy
wish he had just smashed that chance and put his laces through it instead of trying the dink.
madras
wish he had just smashed that chance and put his laces through it instead of trying the dink. alternativly, had he lashed it and the keeper saved it, you'd be posting "i wish he'd tried to just dink it over the keeper". Guest VanBarduck
He made a couple of good runs tonight , he had some burn of pace , also he managed to take on few players which is hard to do when you're unfit (even for messi or ronaldo). My question is ; Why everybody thoughts he was a bit rusty or didn't fully recorvered his speed etc... I was quite surprised to see him at this level ( physically) IMO. durhamunigeordie
Hopefully he will get another 20 or so minutes at the weekend and then be ready to tear it up at SJP next week with a striker to feed. Big European night at home could be just what he needs.
Mole_Toonfan
Its hard to say tbf, for one he played as a striker today so its harder to showcase his pace as it would be on the right cutting in. He was obviously rusty but it was nice to see him again and get some minutes under his belt.
RodneyCisse
His touch to take it past the defender was brilliant, shame the keeper stood tall.
ExiledGeordie
He's not match fit, looked a bit rusty, he's been out 10 weeks. No big deal and to be expected. He got 60 mins so thats progress and will clearly play some part again on sunday. Can't wait to see him play live again.
Cajun
He was probably fucked by that chance too tbh. He looked pretty shattered walking off. The main thing is minutes under his belt and despite being out for so long he was still class enough to get himself into the best position of the game. Jack
Good defensive efforts,he looked involved.Unfortunately he's not fit yet and there wasn't any space.
Wilson
Thought he was a lot less involved than usual, which isn't a bad thing. I think it may have been one of the reasons Pardew was happy to stick him up top on his lonesome as it meant he wasn't in the thick of everything on his first game back. Also meant he didn't have as many defensive duties as he normally would playing on the right, so wasn't required to do as much tracking back etc. Really pleased he got an hour under his belt and come out unscathed. Will have done him wonders. Had the best chance of the game as well, good move from Pardew.
Ste
Big positive, he got through the hour with no problems and we got a result to keep the tie alive.
