The "raise your hands" rule is absolutely ridiculous imo.

 

How, out of interest?

 

It shouldn't automatically be red, I imagine is what he means. And I agree.

 

There are plenty of times where contact is nothing much. Should depend on what actually happens not how high someone's hands are.

 

Well Cisse grabbed his face so i'd say that was high enough.

 

If you raise your hand to an opposition player's face, you should be sent from the field of play, no question. However, i think for Cisse to miss three games for what he did is a bit harsh. Obviously, if 'raising your hands' came in the form of punching someone, you'd be banned retrospectively and given an extra five games punishment, or something. In this case, 'raising your hands' has come in the form of grabbing the guy's chin for a second - one game would suffice.

 

But you're fiddling around with the rules and i can understand why the FA don't tamper with things like this. If the players just didn't do it, it would be simpler. You've got to be thick as pig shit to raise your hands to a player because you know you'll get sent off.
