NUFC transfer rumours in the press

If we were to sign Sissoko, Haidara & Gouffran we could have a potential line up of:

Krul

Debuchy - Mbiwa - Colo - Haidara

Cabaye - Sissoko

Ben Arfa - Marveaux - Gouffran

Cisse

#frenchasfuck

If Cisse was injured then Gouffran could play up top and Obertan could come in

Houllier (Canal+): 'The #NUFC dressing room will be totally unbalanced. You cant stop French speaking French together. There'll be problems'

Just buy more, and while we're at it ring Gerard and see if he fancies bringing balance to the dressing room.

I do remember an unbeaten Arsenal side , with 5 french players in the starting XI... Those where the good times for them , now the man wearing the number 14 is named Walcott  :'(

Incredibly short sighted view there. One of the reasons we have been able to attract quality French players here rather than the capital is we already have the likes of Ben Arfa and Cabaye here. It's a fantastic counter balance to the London clubs being able to grab players due to location and cosmopolitan nature.

This the same Houllier who had 15 or soFrench players on the books at one point during his time at Lolerpool?

The same Houllier who used the press to publicly decline our managerial position not so long ago before signing up for Villa if I remember right. Grand job he did there.

When did that happen? And if it did, maybe he's talking from bad experience.

I disagree with him, but his opinion is more credible than many others in the game tbh.

Tuesday saw three players undergoing medicals on Tyneside - defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa finally completed his £6.7m transfer from Montpellier, Nancy left-back Massadio Haidara was close to sealing a £2.5m move and Bordeaux accepted Newcastle's £1.3m offer for striker Yoan Gouffran, who is due to be out of contract in the summer.

Story doing the rounds that we may have tried to get Van Wolfswinkel from Sporting Lisbon.

Really like this kid, he's scored 19 goals in 36 games for them after joining from Holland in 2011 and looks quick and dangerous - good in the air too. We were looking at him before he moved to Portugal.

There is also a possibility that W Ham are in for him - Sporting are in financial trouble and need to sell but apparently they turned down a recent bid of 15m Euros from CSKA.

Can't see us matching that.......

Dismissed, apparently Sporting offered him to us but turned them down.
