A movable feast.

Not only is it not relevant or true, it's not even a phrase. Never mind football, nobody in the course of human history has ever used the phrase "a movable feast"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Moveable_Feast

Some of the people featured in the book include Alan Pardew, Aleister Crowley, Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ford Madox Ford, Hilaire Belloc, Pascin, John Dos Passos, Wyndham Lewis, James Joyce and Gertrude Stein.

answers a lot of questions that. pardews a hemingway fan, hence the overuse of "jonas guttierrez" in the way "robert jordan" was drilled home in for whom the bell tolls.

He's pitiful. A c*** among c***s. He knew what he was signing up for when he was already sitting on a contract whilst Chris Hughton was leathering mackems, just hoping for a poor result for NUFC so he could get his foot in the door.

Detestable arsehole.

Pretty much. This whole setup needs to fuck off. Can't wait to be proud of my club again.

Sounds like what Kinnear is doing to Pardew right now

Nowt to do with Pardew like, if he wasn't so fearful for his job he'd grow a set and come out publicly berate JFK.

Or failing that, he could just collect his wages and shut the fuck up.

Players like Bony, Downing, Redmond, Bent would have improved the squad as a whole. I cant believe we never went for Redmond tbh.

Bent and Downing may not be ideal but they are both better than Shola and Jonas. If we sign one more player I would rather a genuine winger than striker, Ince or Sinclair.

Signing some of the players may be against our policy as they have little return value, but they would improve the team and our current players would look better as a result, especially Cisse if he is getting service

I can´t beleive all the whining actually.

OK, we need another striker, lets see what happens there. Worst case is that we will have to do with Cisse, Remy and  hmm Shola until january. Its doable but not a good situation. They have more than 2 weeks to sort something out so lets hope..

Transferwise we made 5 signings in january. If we had made 2 in january and 3 this summer people would be very satisfied with the summer activities. Thats the perspective we need now. Bringing these players in january and letting them get a half season in the PL before this seasons starts can only be a good thing.

Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas and Cisse underperformed last season. Are they finished as players? Just the season before they all showed class. This season they will be wanting to prove they are still quality.

Ben Arfa, Krul, Taylor were injured for a lot of last season. They are now all fit and will add quality.

Some development players like Dummet are starting to look good, lets hope more of them can follow his example.

We have a rested good balanced squad. One striker away from one of the best squads in many many years.

Lets just not talk about Pardew, Kinnear and Ashley.. ;)

Put a good manager in charge of our squad, Carr in charge of scouting and a proven administrator in charge of recruitment and I'll be .............Happy, Happy, Happy

It's like watching a  car crash in slow motion (the Ashley, Kinnear, Pardew axis).  We can only hope that when he gets rid of Pardew (and he will) that it is someone of the ilk of Poyet who comes in and not JFK stepping up.  Guess we'll see how it plays out. Shame cos we've got a decent squad imo

Here's the problem with that:

Signed in January? - turned abysmal squad into merely crap

Signed in summer? - turned abysmal squad into merely crap

The point is they would have still only just moved the quality of the squad to where it is now regardless - that is to say, still not good enough. If we had made 2 in January we'd have needed 6 in the summer, not 3, and no one would be happy.

You're wrong on so many levels, I can't even be bothered to get into it! (Unless you're trolling)

I don't understand all the hysteria either.

Look at the squad- we've got an excellent goalkeeper, in colo the best cb since woodgate or arguably ever in modern times, 4 senior cb's, 2 international attacking fullbacks, 2 young fb's, 4 international central midfielders, one being linked to the best/richest clubs in Europe, Ben arfa who'd pretty much get in most teams in the prem and champions league and cisse who is a pure goal scorer. Remy has good very good at qpr in this league and hopefully continues for us. We'r one striker and some decent tactics away from having the best group of players we've had in years!

Yeh pardew has a lot to prove, along with tiote etc but its a new season, all get a clean slate and see what happens

Saying we've got players who are "Internationals" would carry more weight if we had International players from the German, Spanish and Brazilian national teams. We've got French internationals.  France aren't a very good International side at the moment. They are about on par with England.

I'd swap a few of our International players for players who can create and score goals.

I understand the frustrations going around. The whole Kinnear thing, come on! Mike Ashley is pissing all over the supporters with that shit. Pardews tactics are horrible. This is where the criticism should be. I just dont agree with criticizing the squad. The squad is as described one striker away from being really really good.  Lets also hope this new physio can make a difference and stop our injury history.

On that note then, would you be happy with a team full of England internationals?

We're whining as the club haven't done a thing to amend the issue's that almost got us relegated last season. You can't just assume everyone will stay injury free all season and we won't need strength in depth, you always need.

Going into the match on monday with Shola as Cisse's competition tells you everything you need to know about how this club is being ran.
