Ronaldo
Gouffran's no creator, man. I do rate him though. That's rubbish and you know it. His pace alone has created us several goals already, regardless of the quality of his final ball. Even his running off the ball when in attack creates chances. Hang on, his pace has let to 2 goals being scored from rebounds since he signed 2 months ago. I'm talking about creating chances for Cisse - ie taking adavntage of his movement around the box. Neither Gouffran nor Jonas will give him anything near the service he deserves. Which is why we're consistently not troubling keepers away from home and the lad looks supremely pissed off. Unbelievable
Maybe a striker who's completely reliant on service from others is a luxury we can't afford, just a thought.
STM
Ronaldos spot on about the Cisse thing, he's been starved of chances, that's when he hasn't been on the wing. He only gets the odd chance in a game, its no wonder he wasn't scoring. We desperately need at least one other striker.
Unbelievable
If what you're saying is true about being starved for chances, we don't need another striker in the same mould at all, we would need a creative player who is also capable of chipping in with a fair number of goals and play as a centre forward if required, or we would just be looking at the same problem, possibly worsened by the temptation to play both up top. Not that I believe that Cisse's disappointing season can solely be attributed to a lack of service of course. For some reason, his chance conversion rate this season is nowhere to what it was last season. Maybe he is also getting fewer chances, but when he gets one he generally snatches at it way too much. Anyway, he has been scoring more as of late, so I hope he continues in this vein and this sorry season can quickly be forgotten about.
mrmojorisin75
we need a fit ben arfa, him plus sissoko we'll score a bagful if pardew doesn't insist on playing like newcastle falcons hopefully carr has identified a young striker as i don't think we should be spaffing a massive chunk of our wad on a 'name' unless they're comfortable out wide and down the middle

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Posted in the Curtis thread, but looks like we could bin all of Simpson, Harper, Williamson, Gosling, Obertan, Amalfitano and Abeid this summer as well as possibly sending Sammy, Vuckic and Ferguson out on loan again. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2013/04/02/newcastle-united-deciding-who-to-move-on-61634-33100364/

The Amalfitano signing along with Gosling have turned out to be hopeless punts at picking players on a free and then get some value into them and sell them on. Shola may even leave, and with all that gone we still wouldn't be that much worse off if we get in a new CB, especially without Europa football next season. Harper Simpson Williamson Colo Gosling Obertan Amalfitano Jonas Abeid Ferguson Sammy Vuckic Shola All need to leave, a squad CB to cover Taylor and his injuries and almost any mobile striker to replace Shola and none of that will be missed too much. Lot of work to do, but I'd keep the lot if we got rid of the one person that matter in Pardew.

Just a promising, fairly young player who we got for free and more than likely pay very little wages to. Worth a punt tbh. Gosling is the one who will have made a dent in the finances. Not overly fussed about anyone on that list going. Shame about Abeid as I thought he looked promising but we have a fair few CMs now so we can afford to let them leave. We will need to replace Williamson and it would be nice if we could keep Harper around.
Kanj
Most clubs get rid of players on their books who've been dead-weight for ages. We've seemingly kept these players on for many years past their their welcome. Its about damn time and I'll honestly not think twice to whoever they decide to shift on who isn't one of our top 11-12 players as long as that means we will actually replace them. I'm confident our recruiting can identify good squad players - its the board who need to make these decisions to move players and replace them properly to build the squad depth that we've never had.
