This is what I was saying when we were linked to Riviere. Gouffran arrived as the better player, but after a 1.5 years of Pardew-ball he might not be that attacker anymore. He has been playing in the "run hard, but aimlessly down the left side" role for quite a while now. Another thing about Cisse seemingly returning early and looking fit/confident is that we will almost certainly never see Facundo.

He'd rather Cisse be in a wheelchair than lose his job is how this should be spun.
Ste
He won't be risked in the cup games, they mean nothing for the club. I expect him to be on the bench for the next league game and risked once more if we are behind.
mickthemagpie
After last Saturdays effort he needs to be semi-injured for the rest of his career.

Aye, how on earth Papiss couldn't get on the end of all those chances created for him tonight is a mystery.
Ronaldo
TCD singles out only Dummett and Cisse for criticism. Predictable and ludicrous.
Guest TruToon94
That match against Hull proves to me this guy potentially still has it under a decent manager. Putting him out wide though killed him. Get a decent manager with some confidence and he can do it. That said anything over five mil and we should sell him. MW
He was putting effort in. The service to him was absolutely abysmal. We know there's a decent player in there I'm hopeful once we have a new manager
Ste
Doesn't feel right that this player is being risked when he isn't at full fitness.
The College Dropout
Neville made a great point. He has zero presence, zero nuisance factor, rarely teas defenders. And to top it all off - he's not particularly good at his strengths. We'll need him big time until January at least however. I didn't see goals in this side at the start of the season and I don't know.
Guest Gino14
He'd really benefit from a partner but he has an idiot manager who subs off a striker for a striker at half time when losing.
Village Idiot
Honestly, I think Riviére and Cisse would complement each other decently. I actually thought that was the plan once Cisse were fit and Pardew would switch to a 4-4-2. Seems not.

HawK
I got shot down by Ron for suggesting that Riviere would be a 'great' partner for Cisse last week after the Hull game, I still maintain that he would be a Great partner for him because Riviere would dovetail well and make space for Cisse. There's a difference between a great partner and a great striker.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
At least he actually moved and puts himself about. Rivière has the movement of Shola. He's pathetic.
