Dokko
Totally wasted by the first half hoof ball tactics, second half the defenders were comfortable after building up their confidence for 45mins. If something isn't working is it up to the player to try something else, or does he just keep doing it as his manager says so? Think creative freedom in the final third is important. Yorkie
I do think he was let down by the tactics. He feeds off service, and he had none of it. When he was, fleetingly, involved, he showed one or two nice touches. It'll be a waste of a signing if we continue this style of play.
Ronaldo
Cisse's basically a poacher and we were told that when he signed. Until we get some quality on the wings and get some cohesion through the middle we won't see the best of him. But he looks absolute quality when fed propertly. TRon
Cisse will be fine if we play football like we did in the second half. Get Ben Arfa on the wing and he'll make goals for Cisse and Ba.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
He's a poacher who's still adapting to the pace and our style. Won't see his best 'til next year.

Yep, passing it along the deck with some nice movement will be the key.
Smal
He's scored 2 in his first 4 games. Not worried about him at all. Didn't do much today, but not really his fault
cp40
too early in his time here to judge him on todays game- bet hes never seen anything like it. Think we will see the real player next season.

Pardew said as much in his BBC interview. Quite surprised how blatant he made it too.

I was thinking why launch the ball long then if he's just going to get battered by their centre halves?
GM
Hopefully people will start to temper their view of the lad according to his actual ability now, drop the hype and see that he's got a way to go before he's good enough to lay proper claim to the #9 shirt...totally disappointing today. Dave
He's already got the #9 shirt. Not that I think you're being serious.
Ketsbaia
He was awful but the poor lad didnt have a chance with our 1st half no-show.
Skirge
No service at all today, worked hard but look a little overwhelmed.
Dinho lad
yeah, terrible service was the issue with him today, imo. he still managed to get a good cross in on demba's head in the 2nd half. his crossing seems to be quite good, judging by what we saw at WHL as well. Guest Howaythetoon
Pointless signing if we are to continue this long ball up and at em type of game.

David28
Cisse is brilliant on the counter, too. He scored lots of goals for Freiburg and their players certainly are worse than ours. Just the defences weren't that physical.
captainhaircut
One of the things that was really promising against Villa was that Ba was dropping off while Cisse played on the last man. Ba didn't seem to drop off at all today which was a bit disappointing. If teams go 5 against us in midfield, then Ba needs to come off to link.
