Mick
Where's the whole spitting on SBR come from? It did happen. Edit. Bobby did claim that it had happened.

madras
Someone really needs to sign up there and point out that constantly saying we've won 'f*** all' then quoting a scoreline that occurred in the same year we won the league is massively retarded. Would also like to hear if any of them would swap a 1-9 scoreline that happened in an era of football that's completely different today's, a scoreline that happened when their grandparents would of been at school so they have no recollection of what the game was like or the feelings that went with it for a 5-1 scoreline and all the feelings that went along with that day and the memory's. Any of them that chose the 1-9 are pathological liars. If I had the choice of beating them 9-1 this season and them winning the league or for us to lose 9-1 and win the league, I'd take the defeat and the trophy every time. I wouldn't take a 9-1 defeat and finishing 2nd though. that was put to him, he said he'd take the win over the title. he's either a liar or a fool. Mick
when he was england manager. It was when he came to watch Newcastle after dropping Keegan and it was claimed at the time that people or a person in the West Stand had been spitting at him. gbandit
I'd take a 9-1 loss and a champions league spot I wouldn't. would be sickening of course but long-term we'd be in a much better position. Personally, I don't hate sunderland or even dislike them that much. They piss me off around derby day and sure of they started to beat us consistently it would be unbearable mainly because of their fans but one crushing result for big overall gains would be a fair exchange in my opinion

cp40
Yeah, 9-1 loss and a Champions League spot here. Mad not to. not if you drew barcelona and they watched the video of how the fuck Mongs scored 9. 9-1 us in champions league and them relegated to third tier in two seasons would be a tempting trade. WarrenBartonCentrePartin
getting stuffed 9-1 off that horrible lot for a CL spot? easy way to rat out who isn't from the NE.

Whitley bay then how can you justify that comment then?! logic over sentiment we'd be unseeded and with the squad we have now, we'd struggle to qualify. gbandit
Were we to get the CL qualifying rounds, we'd invest further with the potential of 30 mill plus coming in. Not going to talk about the realistic prospects of us qualifying for something which is already a hypothesis, all the same, I'd take our chances
Sima
I'd take the title with a 9-1 defeat but like fuck would I take it for a CL spot.
Ketsbaia
A 2-1 defeat in exchange for CL is ok, but 9-1 would really hurt.
Guest NobbyOhNobby
I'd take a 9-1 loss if we could win the world cup and I could own and ride a liger
Wilson
i'd rather hump them 5-1 and use the points and goal difference as our route to the CL....also more realistic than getting humped off them badly

Whitley bay then how can you justify that comment then?! logic over sentiment surely being a football fan as a whole is the best example of putting sentiment over logic? if we all put logic over sentiment we would probably stop putting up with watching this club
