Dave
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is considering starting with derby specialist Shola Ameobi – if the long-serving Toon forward can shake off a cold. Ameobi has scored six goals against Sunderland and invariably finds his best form in such games. “He could start but I will have to wait and see how he is,” said Pardew. “Shola will be important to us in the dressing room, whether he plays or not, because he knows how important it is to wear that shirt. “I don’t care how ill he is, I will have him in there.” Just no. Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Wow. Imagine how lethargic a cold suffering Shola Ameobi would be.

"whether he plays or not" stands out for me. Confident he will be our mascot and not much more. Maybe a late sub to boost morale and tbf he has been a useful sub on occasion. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Shola shoulder in a corner in the 87th minute to make seal the 4-1 win.

Ameritoon
Yeah, those quotes aren't very convincing in terms of Shola starting. I think we'll be alright.
