Newcastle 1 - 1 Sunderland - 04/03/12 - post-match reaction from page 42

Recommended Posts

Been out all day and recorded the match, so just got round to watching it.

1st half was fucking shocking.  What the fuck is Pardew doing with his tactics and selection.  Yet more points dropped at home by Alan's shite game plan.  People maybe happy that we scrapped a draw but i'm furious that we resulted to the long ball shit from the off after the recent results.  Hopefully Ben Arfa's energy will make Pardew think twice about starting pea mouth in front of him.

Crap first half, much better second half.  Must give a mention to Sunderlands finest though who cut open the blokes head behind me with their coin throwing antics, the despicable cunts.  Also the stewards/police for doing fuck all about it and especially the steward lass who laughed about it.

What happened with Andy Woodman for him to get sent to the stands?

via Twitter

"Sorry toon army but I had to stick up for the geordie badge!!"

Fight in the tunnel at half time apparently with Jim Henry.

Henry was having a go at a few of our lads apparently and Woodman stepped it.

Good on him

Lee Ryder getting told off by NUFC journo for not quoting interview sources

Glad he's getting pulled up for that, he's terrible for making a living off of other people's work/stories.

with Cattermole getting a red and his 10th yellow, will he get a 5 match ban in total? or just the 3 for the red?

5 i think, his booking brought him to 10 and then got a straight red.

Yeah, pretty sure its a 5 match ban, and 3 for Super Sess.

overall thoughts for the match...it was a fight rather than a football match. can't say either team deserved victory, we had more chances due to the sending off but those chances came from lumping it in mainly. still maintain had the ref sent clattertwat off early on like he should have it would have played truer.

Well that nearly killed me had to walk home, closing Barrick road is utter stupidity, they can't control a few fkn mackems.

Brilliant atmosphere, I really don't understand why it cannot be like that every game the way it used to be.

s*** first half thanks to a totally idiotic refereeing display, 6 yellow cards in 25 mins, ridiculous they were scared to make a tackle, completely killed the game.

I will NEVER EVER understand why Shola did not take the pen, that miss will haunt Demba for a long time, mind we should have at least two other pens.

Thought Cabaye was very poor today, not sure whats going on with him.. Benny was like a breath of fresh air when he came on though, he HAS to start games now.

p*ssed off we didn't win it but they are much more organized side now then they have ever been before, and in the end both side should be happy with the point.

all of the above, completely agree

Aren't clubs supposed to be punished for ill discipline? Banning "Catts" for 5 games sounds more like a reward, he's pap.

for all the good bits and bad bits of todays game,  for as bad as we were 1st half thought we were excellent in the 2nd, more intensity and totally dominated them even when they had 11 men.

Would quite happily take 4 points off them every season.

Loved the atmosphere today.. You could feel the passion everytime something happened.. And it was the first time of the games I've been to this season were basically everyone was joining in.. It'd be class if we could figure a way to keep it like that v the likes of bolton n Norwich. First half was dreadful in terms of play.. No idea why we kept knocking it long to cisse and cabaye was basically along side our back 4. I did think for a second we were going to win it when the ball dropped to Williamson? Glad we didn't loose though.

Sessegnon is their best player who O'neil allows a free role to roam where he wants.

We all now know after todays second half that we have an even better playmaker than him in HBA.

Even stuck out on the wing he dominated the game.

Our manager won't give him a full game. Why?

I'd hazard a guess that good football would do just that.

Cattermole should have been sent off in the first minute. That tackle on Tiote looked like a deliberate attempt to nobble a player.

Aye. Bit rich MON and McClean complaining when they should've been down to 10 men from the off.

McClean's tackle on simpson was a clear red-card and dean's decision to book simpson afterwards was a complete farce.  Do referee's expect players to shake hands after being clattered after a 2 foot challenge.

just seen this one again. very lucky boy/deformed maggoty weasel troll

Should really be winning games like these with our personnel and home advantage but I was chuffed to bits at the time, the idea of losing to the scruffy shits is unbearable and I was proud of the way we fought.

We really need to believe in ourselves a lot more, there's a hell of a lot going for the club right now and that should translate onto the pitch, we saw a bit of that in the second half today and it made a big difference. Hopefully Pards takes a lot of faith out of today's second 45, if we're truly serious about sustaining our Euro challenge to the end, we need to be more positive from the off.
