No manager is going to succeed at that club until Lampard, Terry, Cole and Drogba are gone.  With the possible exception of Cole, these players cant accept that they're over the hill and are no longer good enough for a starting place in a top 4 side

 

Yes, Chelsea need some younger blood if they're going to get back to challenging the title but this is a ludicrous statement.

Trouble is that they can't spend any more if they want to comply with fair play, something abromvich has actually championed in the past.

 

They had the money to rebuild and spunked it all on torres, a new manager is going to have to sell lamps et all for pittance as they're getting on and replace them with cheap players, all very well for long term but hard to get into the champions league in the immediate season. They're never going to be able to nurture a new band of players either without trusting a manager with them for a while. They're rather screwed imo, their squad is surprisingly thin all in all.

Getting rid of by far your best LB and striker isn't always the best way to go.
