Interpolic Posted May 14, 2012 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Obertan didn't really disappoint me as such because I thought he was shite when he joined. Despite a lack of football intelligence I do think he could be a handy squad player now, the main problem was him starting 20 games in a row when we had better alternatives. Best Result : 3-0 vs Man U Goal Of The Season: Because I saw it in the flesh, I'll go for HBA vs Blackburn. Best Signing: Ba (Cisse's the obvious choice, but Pardew stated the other night that without Ba we'd have probably never got Cisse, plus as far as value for money goes a 16 goal striker for sweet FA takes some beating) Best Prospect: In terms of young players definitely Santon, but a special mention for Marveaux who I think, providing he stays fit, will be a big player for us next season. Most Disappointing Player : Tiote. Very inconsistent the entire season. A few massive performances, but far too many more where he was sloppy with the ball and reckless in the tackle. Best Game Attended : Fulham v. Wisla Krakow at the Cottage Best Result : 3-0. Man U. SJP. Goal Of The Season: Cisse making the field of physics obsolete against Chelsea. Best Signing: Cisse Best Prospect: I suppose Santon, but it is difficult to call someone who has played that many senior games in two different top leagues a prospect. Ferguson and Abeid look like they will be players if given time. Best Solo Performance: Ben Arfa v. West Brom. Probably one of the quickest players I've ever seen but can't remember him ever using it. Hopeless unfortunately. Best Game Attended : Liverpool, everything just went right for us. Similar to the 5-1 Mackem game. Best Result : I'd say either Sunderland away or Man United at home. Sunderland because it really set us on our way, winning there so early in the season was fantastic, and shut them up. Man Utd for obvious reasons. Goal Of The Season: Ben Arfa v Bolton for me like, although Cisse does come very close. I personally enjoyed his Norwich goal a lot but it doesn't seem to get the coverage. Best Signing: Ba, because he was free and amazing in the first half of the season. Best Prospect: Santon, think he's going to be even better next season.
