Central midfielder who can play at left back.

That'll do.

Midfielder isn't he?

Yeah the fact that he can play LB as well as CM is really attractive.

Can't understand why some people think CM isn't a real need, we only have 2 at the moment. I'd feel more confident starting Williamson at CB than I would depending on any of the youngsters or playing the likes of Raylor in CM.

With Guthrie gone we could certainly do with another central mid. If anything happens to Tiote or Cabs you'll be relying on kids.

the only reasons i can think of are they see a cb can possibly go straight in to the team, same with right back and forwards are exciting.....i'm with you though, i think centre mid is our most important need right now.

Aye, Jonas can do a job there as part of a three in the middle but I wouldn't fancy him alongside Cabaye or Tiote in a 4-4-2.

Doesn't that new French lad play CM?

I imagine with/if Marveux available Jonas will be a back up for a midfield 2 too.

Aye, Jonas and Marveaux can do a very good job there as part of a three in the middle but I wouldn't fancy him alongside Cabaye or Tiote in a 4-4-2.

FYP. Centre-mid's far from a priority imo, but i won't be annoyed if we do sign one. Especially someone who can specialise in a couple of positions, like Anita.

He does but we've no idea how good he is or how he'll settle to the prem. Not sure if he looks like your typical centre medfielder too, although i've seen very little of him. Not sure if he looks physical enough to dominate the middle,

Agreed, A fullback and a striker are more pressing. Anita and a CB would be great additions but we certainly need the other two first.

Thinking more about it, i'm coming around to the midfielder over a CB talk. I too would trust Williamson and Perch to back up at CB over any CM we have for Tiote and Cabaye and the fact Anita can play fullback is a massive bonus.

Will turn out to be a quality signing IMO.

Still consider RB and CF priority's tho.

I'm not bothered what comes first like. Like you say, we need a bare minimum of a striker and a full-back; if we end the transfer window without either of those (which i can't see), it'll have been a massive balls-up. Then comes CB.

Then comes CM. We've already signed two this window, plus we've an ever-improving Abeid, plus Gosling, plus Vuckic (who i haven't lost faith in), then Perch, then even Raylor. Our pool of CMs could be a hell of a lot worse.

Aye, same. Know literally nothing of either but it's a huge step up from the lower regions of the Champ/Ligue2 to the PL especially in such an area as CM. I think we're massively weak on back up throughout the spine of squad tbh. Same goes with Abeid.

No idea if this lad is good enough either mind but I'd be surprised if he'd leave for anything other than first team football.

Ideally as I've said before I'd have a lot of these young lads out on loan and getting regular first team football for a season to help their development.

Guest Ilsteir

A Dutch journalist claims Vurnon Anita could be sold to Newcastle this week and expects another Ajax man to follow.

http://tyneandwear.sky.com/newcastleunited/video/31686

I hope this is true my No1 target of the summer.

Sometimes you just want to smack journalists around the head. The movie is poorly edited (or intentionally misleading), Valentijn Driessen (not Breissen) is clearly talking about Van der Wiel who switched to Raiola a few days back and is looking for a transfer. He didn't say anything about Anita who is still managed by Lulofs.
