NEEJ
He's very quick thinking, that's what's impressed me most. His first instinct is to pass and move.
GuyP
For someone who's supposed to play quite deep he doesn't get very deep does he. I think he hides a bit off the ball, even when we had three in the middle at the start last night Sidwell was bombing on and rarely picked up. Think he's part of the reason we get picked off on the break too easily. Alright on the ball but i'm far from convinced about him. Maybe Pardew telling him to stay forward but if can see it's not working surely you drop in. Loss of Cabaye been massive. Interesting that, I didn't notice it at all. I think he'll work better as part of a deeper two with Cabaye as the most advanced. Bingo. --------Tiote-----Anita---------- ------------Cabaye-------------- Ben Arfa------------Marveaux -----------Ba/Cisse-------------- will we ever see this I wonder. Ben Arfa - Tiote - Cabaye - Marveaux ----------Ba------------Cisse---------------

toontownman
Poor freekick and corner aside, he is a key part in our direct approach today and looks fantastic.

Shak
Looking forward to seeing him link up with Cabaye. (Theoretically, of course. I'm sure one of them will end up playing left wing when they do play together next.)

littlelunchbox
worrying thing is he said him self that he's a defensive midfielder, and today our most creative player was him. What does that say about the rest of the team.
Tooj
worrying thing is he said him self that he's a defensive midfielder, and today our most creative player was him. What does that say about the rest of the team. Depends on your outlook. As he's not your defensive midfielder in the way that he will break up play and stop the opposition from playing. He's more in the Carrick mould that he'll be the one controlling play due to his range of passing.
