Why would we pay 19m euros for Remy but refuse to pay 16 for De Jong.

Load of shit.

Just to be clear, i do not think he will sign for us due to the price.

But your logic is wrong imo. We set a value on the player, not at the position.

If NUFC consider Remy to be more proven at top level, and will keep his value, its fair play.

De jong is unproven at top level, Remy is a french international, with several good season under his belt.

He was linked to spurs in January for £20-£25m if i remember correct.

Yep, agree.  Every player has a certain price.

We won't pay more than what we paid for Cisse.

30 million for Cisse, Ba, Remy, Ben Arfa and Cabaye would be dreamland!  :o

Considering OM paid a reported 15 million euros for Remy I don't think we'd have a chance in hell of getting him if we won't pay more than what we paid for Cisse, last year of his contract or not. If he was available at that price the likes of Spurs would have bit the bullet by now.

I don't think AVB fancies him and its probably the reason why we are being linked with him.

Wouldn't suprise me if it's all his agent trying to drum up interest.

Same reason we pulled out the Maiga deal and signed Cisse... A better player became available at a price the club thought was still excellent value...

Seems like somethings been lost in translation.

All the french sites are basing it on the guardian article yesterday. Where they simply say hes valued at 15m, not that we'll offer it. They're saying we'd want to negotiate that down actually.

Really, suprised we would adopt such an approach

Of course we would.

It's brought us so much success this summer so far.

I know that man..attempt at sarcasm obviously not my best.

Wikipaedia are saying they've accepted a bid of.....£150.01 million....slip of the hand no doubt while typing. (now it's been changed to pence....who let the dogs out ?.....Then changed again...)

But the lads scored 1 in every 2 games, which ain't bad.

This.

Somebody correct me on this, but I think his agent is the infamous Jean-Pierre Bernès who's Nasri's agent as well. A cunning one, used to match-fixing as well. Basically:

That Wikipaedia changed 3 times in 3 minutes.

Yes, we all know its rep....but I mean THREE times in as many minutes ?

The point I was making is his goal record is averaging 1 in 2 games
