2014/15 NUFC Kits - New third kit revealed on page 143

Many football fans choose to buy football shirts of their favourite team. It is not a new prospect. It does not denote any particular love for the sponsor of said shirt.

Exactly where do you draw the line?

That is up to the individual.

Personally, I'm not convinced my line really exists, but it certainly wouldn't be because of a financial establishment that has screwed people over. Otherwise we should've all been enraged at Northern Rock. And pretty much every other bank in the planet.

I haven't made my mind up on it yet, as haven't seen it in the flesh. I'll check it out tomorrow.

I'm not keen on having Wonga on my chest either, but perhaps we should realise its just another in a long line of corporate sponsors. Is one really better than any other?

 Congratulations to the media for creating a frenzy around one particular sponsor of a football club. Intrigues me that people are classing this as their moral breaking point.

Genuine question: Did Southampton get this much shit for wearing Friends Provident? Which, as far as I can tell, was essentially the same kind of loans, but in person?

Friends Provident sounds so nice and classy though.

Was going to buy the bairn one but a bit iffy about the Wonga logo being on a babies Toon shirt. Hope they miss it out, though not likely at all. Hell, who am I kidding, I'll probably buy it either way.

Hilarious people get worked up over wonga but had no problem kids advertising beer, having a bank logo (which are just as bad as wonga etc). No one makes a fuss that MasterCard sponsors champions league even though people will be in debt because they use their cards.

If people take out loans they should be aware they have the means to repay it, all the clubs with betting/casino sites how are they any better?

Who cares if they are any better? We're not talking about them, we're talking about Newcastle United and Wonga.com.

I don't know what would possess anyone to buy this anyway, imagine walking around with a big WONGA sign on your stomach. I wouldn't take one if it was free.

Theres been worse. Remember the "NOBO" company that sponsored some poor suckers ?

(actually, just did a search for Nobo, and this link is even better - http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/lists/5408/top_10_funny_sh.html )

There are some shitty sponsors out there. For the record I don't have a huge moral issue with wonga and I do think the media fuss was overboard, other clubs are sponsored by murky companies, no one seems to have a problem with Standard Chartered sponsoring Liverpool for example. I have a bigger problem with how ugly their logo is, i'm shallow like that.
