Remember that drunk twat in the hostel I was talking about? He can't get home because he's banned from P&O ferries for life after being a cunt on the way over. Was complaining that they put him in the 'shit ferry jail'

What a fucking plank.

Unreal trip. Time to do some chocolate shopping then head back to Brussels :(

Jealous of anyone going over to Bordeaux. Will definitely be going to another away game if we make it to the knockout stages.

Random quote overheard in a bar last night,

"Alreet, I'm Micky. Just call me Mortal though cos I'm fucking mortal."

A few knobs about but generally it was a fantastic show of support. Would definitely go back to Brugge, lovely place. Really hope we can land a plum tie in the knock out round now.

Left for Bruges at midday to meet up with a few of my Geordie mates, enjoyed a pint at the little square behind the Grote Markt before the match and got up to the stadium early to avoid not being able to leave due to not having tickets in the away end, but in the home end. It felt a bit like WW2 having to pass several police checkpoints but we managed by me doing the talking (in Dutch) and my mates keeping quiet. Continued pre match beverages in a pub close to the ground surrounded by Club Brugge fans. Managed to get in the stadium quite easily (long live automatic turnstiles) and politely clapped when Brugge scored as we were surrounded by quite fanatical Bruges fans. In the second half we moved to a quieter area in our stand and could speak and support NUFC a bit more freely. Unfortunately couldn't stay for post match festivities as I had to drive the whole way back home, but from what I've seen I have to hand a big compliment to both the Newcastle fans that were there, as I haven't seen any bother and the locals as well, who made us feel really welcome. Class day all round and happy to have seen Newcastle play live again as it had been too long!

Was one bloke on my flight with a mashed up head, looked like he had had a face first journey along the cobbles, poor bloke.

Didnt know we had so many of the Paul and Shark brigade either.

Few people saw the bother in Brussels. Said it was a group of Turks with planks of wood with nails in.

Few others had a bit of bother in Brussels from a group of Moroccons agigitating for a fight.

Personally had no problems. The majority of Newcastle fans were well behaved from what I saw but few idiots pissing in the street. No need.
