Guest bimpy474
It doesn't suprise me that some think its that easy to sign players. I want, I want, I want. Not what i meant, but we have had the best part of 4 months to prepare for this window, a four months that has shown us to be short of players and quality. Any fool could see it and for us to be in no better shape apart from injuries coming back is pathetic. What's your point. The club knows the situation or it wouldn't be trying to sign players. Its simply not that easy. Are we supposed to go and kidnap players? Knowing Ba was off, for a start should have meant we had a striker in by now. Ok they want Remy but we fiddle while Rome burns to save million or two. Well if we go down we will lose a fortune when the new tv deal kicks in next season. And how did we "know" Ba was going. Anything could be delaying this deal.
Stifler
I'm not sure if it's relevant or not but there seems to be a large number of German Twitter posts saying he's on his way here. There was rumoured to be a few German clubs interested in him.

While i don't expect or want us to spend mentally, surely December's form was all they needed to know to see what we needed. One look at our fixtures, which many on here did, showed these 3 games we are in were the most important for a long time. They have had so much time to prepare for this window. Fine deals are complicated, but are actually believing them now about it. I'm done with believing anything they say.

Guest
http://www.rmcsport.fr/editorial/337848/om-ca-discute-entre-newcastle-et-remy/ "If Sky Sports indicated that Newcastle are close to concluding a deal with Loic Remy, a source close to Marseille assures that an agreement is not "imminent". The English club and the French international are in discussions. The Magpies hope to reach an agreement with Loic Remy before making an offer to Marseille. This could be in the region of €10m." And?, OM have said the region of sum of what they would like, if we haven't yet made the bid but are about too then surely that means we are close to agreeing a fee. OM will just think it's business as usual until the bid actually comes in.
David28
Wonder how we can get a player to really be desperate to want to join us at the moment.
alexf
So the usual get the player to want to come and then offer less than his value? All set-up to fail on purpose? No but in an attempt to get the player to force through the deal in the way we tried with Debuchy this summer. Hopefully not and we just pay the £9m or whatever it is in £'s that they are asking. beerherenow
From what I gather from my mate who does football in the community with NUFC this deal was originally agreed early doors in December with Marveaux part of the deal. Subsequently we've went back on this with Marveauxs renaissance and are trying to renegotiate. Don't shoot the messenger!
