not sure what Adidas were trying here. It’s all a bit of a mess

Its a bit of a mid 90's tartan throwback that went badly wrong

I like that series Buglass does, but he's got a lot of that typical designer mindset where anything different = good and anything derivative = bad/boring at almost all costs. That France kit might be a bit different and the top on its own is nice, but as a full kit I think it's pretty rank tbh.

That is the Adidas template which seemingly will be applied to everyone connected to that manufacturer, including us.

The main body of the shirt (in that case the tartan pattern), the fangs (the bright yellow), and the under-arm/sides (flat dark blue) are where any individualism will be applied.

Wales for comparison:

All other Adidas internationals: https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/01/adidas-2024-national-team-kits.html

Here's England's new shirt: https://amp.footyheadlines.com/1993345979402252834/

And all other Nike internationals: https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/01/nike-2024-national-team-kits.html

England away is really nice. Interesting that Nike have dropped that awful curved design which ruined any striped kit. All the new kits seem to have the exact same texture though.

Aye, I had that one

Same, was thinking it was maybe three, four year back.

Nah 12 year ago. Mint.

Doesn't like any of the adidas national kits there. They're all awfull imo.

Really hope we get something completly different!

Castore have bought the European arm of Umbro.

That doesn't sound good for the UK based Umbro operation. And that would be a shame cos Umbro quite literally piss all over Castore in every department.

They do have the UK rights aswell 😫 RIP Umbro

Castore buy Umbro

Apparently the clubs who currently use Umbro, like Bournemouth will keep the Bournemouth branding.

I’d guess they will go back on that eventually.

From their point of view they might get a better production line, and distribution network.

Hopefully they retain their design department cos that is undoubtedly the best feature of Umbro shirts recently.

I think design has been Castore's strong point. It's the quality/speed of service that seems shit. Might be what they need getting with Umbro.

I think it’s the quite literal pissing that they want.
