Sho Time
He's been absolutely ruined for the past 2 years, he'll end up going the same way as Sebastien Deisler I reckon.
mrmojorisin75
Can't wait to see De Jong playing off the striker in the 30 minutes of game time he manages next season. His collapsed lung is hardly a sign he's injury prone, like. Ana he torn his groin early on, but howay. He will play atleast 20 games next season IMO. Didn't he miss almost all of the season for Ajax before missing the entire season for us? Absolute suicide to plan on him as the crux of your team like. That was his first lung collapse, no? Either way, I agree we can't fully reply on him, but he's not made of glass, these aren't muscle tears and ligament strains he's suffered from. so 2 lung collapses in 2 years? i know nothing of lung collapses but it doesn't sound great
The College Dropout
It sounds fucking awful. The lack of transfer speculation for inbound transfers is worrying. Wouldn't sell any players of any ability. The squad has massive holes as it is.

However a recurrence doesn't mean a long term issue. It's also incredibly common in sportsmen in their mid 20s.

Twinport53
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000087.htm A little on collapsed lungs. Tall, thin people and smokers are more likely to have a collapsed lung He's atleast one of those, no wonder it's happened twice.

Incredibly common has in the chances of it happening in professional sportsmen are much higher than the every day person. Maybe i didn't word it too well. Guest chopey
Sissoko, de jong and winegum seems like a tasty midfield Liverpool can't mess that up

sbnufc
My mate has had a collapsed lung 8 times, had surgery more than once and it still happens. It is common, and is likely to happen again
Dr Venkman
I'm hoping he stays to counter attack with Gini. Would be suitors, you can keep your coins.
Unbelievable
I'm hoping he stays to counter attack with Gini. Would be suitors, you can keep your coins. Absolutely. If Wijnaldum has been brought in as Sissoko's replacement we will effectively still not have strengthened/invested and will still be significantly weaker squad wise than at the start of last season. Mole_Toonfan
I'm just struggling with the idea of them together tbh, not that it wouldn't be good but where they would play. With De Jong, Cabella and Perez you have 3 players who in theory are most comfortable behind a striker so 433 seems out of the question and unless you put Sissoko out wide you will have to play them both at CM. Not that i'd be against that but i doubt McLaren is going to play them both as CMs without someone behind them.
Unbelievable
Having something resembling a capable squad rather than just a few above average players would be nice, in theory.

Geordie Ahmed
Not sure why people are not fussed if Sissoko is sold Wijnaldum is a great signing BUT we don't know how he will settle and there are things like injuries and suspensions to think about, so I would love to keep Sissoko as nobody else in the squad is better than him at driving the team forward Sissoko was average towards the end BUT he has shown his quality and I would like to see him managed by someone that isn't a complete moron
Tiresias
I'd rather he was not sold either, however I don't think it would be a disaster if he were. Some of the rumoured bids have been for waaaay more than he's worth too.
Ikon
Use him in a correct way and he can be very very effective in our team. I don't want him to be a playmaker or the one to look for to make that final pass in the last third. Get him to play it as simple as possible, without too many touches when standing still/going slow. When he's at full speed and there's space to run in to he's brutal. When we are defending too deep with too many bodies and no pressing and win the ball back and Sissoko charges 70m forward that's when he runs into blind alleys because there's barely any team mates to release a simple effective pass to, because no one has been able to get to the last third quick enough because everyone has been instructed to get back and defend. I have become very frustrated with him many times, like with many other players, but we've been a fucking mess in every way. I liked what i read the other day, that the coaches are trying get the players to press the opposition instead of everyone sitting back. IF we can do this well and have more players up the pitch when we actually win the ball then our transition from defence to attack could be brutal with Wijnaldum and Sissoko to name two. Hopefully we can add to this instead of selling after making a quality signing. One last thing, i remember seeing Sissoko at Toulouse a few games, and instead of trying to through the back four he often had lots of options to make a simple pass to and then make a powerful run in to the box. He didn't always get it but it did create space for other players. He got the ball back two times after a pass and run iirc, scored one of them. Disco
Simply having another player in the midfield than can actually run will probably help him no end n all.
