sempuki
Why would they profit? They paid £30m for him. Thinking that post is sarcasm. Some Spuds fans think they only have to pay an installment and can sell him on.

Odear
Oh they were sold a pup, that's for sure. In fact, Wijnaldum was equally as good business for us. Expect a return to this model once we return to the PL

I imagine some of the fee might have been based on appearances and achievements, but the idea that they can sell him at them end of the season and only give us £7m is laughable

If they sell him - they still owe us money when the next payment is due. They might sell him and decide to pay all at once
Figures 1-0 Football
Might cancel my direct debit with DFS and tell them I don't need to pay for my sofa anymore because I've sold it.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
Its mental this "luckily we only paid 6 million for him" business. Fucking thick as mince some people, clubs could make a fortune on installment deals if they bought players for high fees then sold them for a bit less 6 months later Missing a trick on that one. sparkzter
Is this for real??? Do they actually think that's how it works and all they need to pay is the first instalment? Thick as fuck if so. Weren't we paying for players that where no longer at the club for a while? Rings a bell.

Spurs will be doing the same for a long time with this deal. Still, it's only £6m a season which is peanuts for them, especially while they are in the CL. Dr.Spaceman
Surely if they sell him they have to sell on the remainder of the money owed to us as well. What about that do they not get?! No top club in their right mind is going to touch him.

If you buy something in installments but you sell it before the final payments.... you still owe the money.

The sale of the football player Moussa Sissoko is between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspurs. Not a third party. Tottenham have to pay us. It can be a thing where the buying club has to effectively pay us - but it will be Spurs making the payment.
AyeDubbleYoo
They could do a similar arrangement with whoever they sell him to so effectively the new club are covering the instalments to us. But I'm not sure that could happen as the fee will be much, much lower than Spurs paid.

Guest
Must admit, all the great players Spurs have had down the years, for Sissoko to be the most expensive player in the club's history is funny.

However its financed - Spurs are paying Newcastle £30m for Moussa Sissoko.

John P
£55M for him and Wijnaldum really is incredible. To be fair I've seen Wijnaldum getting some good comments from Liverpool fans recently. There's a good player in there, unlike Moussa who is just a bit of pace and power and very little intelligence or technical ability.
