AyeDubbleYoo
If he is not going to play for them again this year (according to the chairman) then they should just let us pay for the remainder of his wages and have him now I'm sure they will, maybe a small transfer fee like. nufc4eva
If they have indeed suspended them / thrown to the youth team/bench then surely will be done this month as Toulouse have 2 choices, hold on to an unhappy player and pay his wages for next few months while not playing him or sell him for a nominal fee and also not have to pay his wages, they would surely save 2-3 mil on wages and transfer fee. Would seem a no brainer really

Would seem a no brainer really They've got a 3rd choice as well: hold onto him for as long as possible this month in the hope someone will come in with a higher offer than us. Unless he's signed that pre-contract agreement. All depends how sure Sissoko is he's only going to come here and nowhere else.

Toulouse have little leverage that doesn't cost them money.

AyeDubbleYoo
I thought he's signed the pre-contract. Rumours are he has/is going to, not sure of the actual truth.

Mole_Toonfan
I thought he's signed the pre-contract. Rumours are he has/is going to, not sure of the actual truth. Apparently he is/will be in Newcastle today to do just that, if various media outlets are to be believed anyway.
Dan Gleebals
Why would he come to Newcastle or the UK for that matter just to sign a contract?
ExiledGeordie
The fact that a name like Mbiwa has just signed won't harm our chances of him signing
TRon
Because a contract is for both parties and he'll want to check out the facilities etc, before signing up. Also, there will still need to be some sort of medical so the club know they're not wasting their time. But the pre-contract is all about getting the upper hand in a proposed permanent move...IMO. Yeah that would work. Toulouse would then have to accept that he's coming here and it's something or nothing as far as a fee goes.
STM
If we have any sense, we will be sympathetic towards Toulouse. Its no good pissing them off, as they will just dig their heels. Offer them a sensible sum, in order to get him in early.

Offer them a sensible sum, in order to get him in early. Whatever amount they will waste on his wages/loyalty fees til June for not playing him plus a few quid for their troubles should do it imo. About £500k at most, once he signs a pre contract thats them getting nothing else unless they accept our bid.
STM
Wouldn't be the first club to throw away money on principle.
TRC
To be fair, he probably wants to play for us in the Europa now.
ExiledGeordie
Independent reporting today that he's had a medical. That would leave plenty of time to negotiate a fee because you'd think that personal terms would've been agree as well so this could run right up until the last day regarding fee haggling. But the player wouldn't then have to fly in in time to get things signed.

We'd be going so much crazier if we weren't in such a dire league position...these new faces will surely have to give us a huge boost.
AyeDubbleYoo
I can't believe he was here for a medical yesterday, they've done a great job of keeping him hidden if he was.

Ikon
Wonder if we've been in talks with Touoluse yet regarding some sort of agreement, really hope so. Hopefully we aren't too stubborn on the price, so that we don't piss em off really bad. Then they might keep him until the summer just out of priciples to fuck around with Sissoko. Skeletor
GFNFrance @GFN_France RE: #Capoue. As we said yesterday, if #NUFC can agree a deal to sign #SIssoko this Jan, #Toulouse won't let #Capoue go [to QPR]. Now I want him even more.
