So if he plays a few times and doesn't give a f***, then we don't play him. Where is the risk?

Then we potentially have lost out on millions or a quality motivated player as his replacement that the risk. There has been no bids apparently but maybe we could of got 20m for him. That would get us a couple of quality players who want to be here. That's far better than having Sissoko sulking on the sidelines

It *might* get us a couple of players. More likely it'll get us 0 players and it'll get Mike a few quid. Or maybe 1 player that isn't as good as Sissoko but might work hard for a few months? Either way, it's far from a risk.

A bad apple getting gametime could have a canny negative effect on the team like. Equally he could turn up and boss the fuck out of every team so it won't matter.

In all likelihood he's still off somewhere and we can all be happy that we don't have to talk about the bloke anymore.

That would have been right in the past but we seem to spend the money we get on replacements now, actually functioning as a football club again. Sure Rafa would get the money to spend but like I say there's been no bids so it's not even a choice for us at the moment.

Whether there has been no bids due to our asking price or just no firm interest in general

No risk keeping him till January.

Clubs will always pay more in January.

Or is that just an old wives tale? Like if the wind changes, your face will stay like that.

Unconvinced at that statement personally.

If we were worried about his attitude we would have signed someone to push him out already. He's not going to be a problem if he stays.

Massive assumption that, how would we 'push him out'? Sign someone who'll come to us in the second tier but is also significantly better than him? Seems an extremely unlikely scenario.

I just don't know what people envision when an unhappy player comes to training. Huffy cunt on his own isn't just going to go round telling everyone to fuck off every day. And if he does you pack him off to diddle the kids. As we've all seen, he's a fairly spineless individual, so he will most likely just turn up, run around a bit and then go home. Not exactly the end of the world.

The problems come when he gets picked over a player who does give a fuck and others see him blatantly not trying on the pitch. It's all hypothetical like, but it happens.

Any evidence of him being a "bad apple" like? He's very professional according to Rafa

Watch a couple of last season's matches or pick up a copy of L'equipe.

Plenty of our players were shit last season, wouldn't call them bad apples. I would say the rest of the players don't even realise that he talks to the press so much. The only ones that really care about it are the fans. Rafa Benitez doesn't make a negative influence in the dressing room captain
