Is it me or are there more other club fans in that thread than Wigan fans?

Hope the injury isn't too bad. The fact he wasn't sent straight to the hospital seems to discard a break.

Of course, the ironic thing about that first post is, if their thug doesn't do our player, Perch doesn't have to come on the pitch in the first place.

The horrendous injury overshadowed the match and any result. It would have been emty even if we have won.

Yep, as I said during the match, even if we had won it would have very much been a case of mixed emotions. The fact we lost just makes the feeling even worse, of course!

You can guarantee that the punishment would be worse if it was a Man Utd (or other top 4) player

Exactly, imagine if it was the press' darling boy Gareth Bale. The player would be banned for life.

Career ending tackle. As VI says, no immediate hospital suggests no break and he may have got away without anything horrific.

Or maybe we just want him home this time since HBA was a bit stranded on his own for a week when the same happened to him?

Fking assault to the knee man. That's one of the worse injuries you can get. Can potentially end the career of a very young footballer before it has even started. Essien got fked after his knees went.

Also said they couldn't straighten it to fully assess, may be why there waiting until newcastle.

If you watch it, his leg doesn't bend the wrong way like in most of these horror challenges.

Praying that its just tissue damage and he's got away with it.

It can still be damn bad even without the leg bending. We're talking about a weight-bearing joint, the part where the bones are connected. Once that loses significant ability to hold up the body it's game over. At least broken bones can heal or even strengthen the area without long-lasting implications.

Cartilage damage is the deal-breaker. Bones heal, cartilage doesn't. Torres became s*** after losing cartilage tissue in his knee. Pretty sure it was ankle cartilage problems what ultimately forced Dean Ashton's retirement too.

Anyway, just speculation.

Can he be retrospectively punnished? Did the ref make a note of the incident?  Hope he doesn't get off on a bullshit technicality.

He said he hadn't seen it which might mean the fa can look at it.

Wanker had a cocky swagger as he walked off too, looks like a fucking chav, hope he is on the receiving end himself at some point. Footballers dont make challenges like that, no excuse its not like hes slid in and miss timed it, it was intentional.

Shove your half arsed appology, chav.

Journos have been suggesting that he's said in his report that he didn't see it () - if that's the case then maybe the FA will look at it.

Can't say I expect there to be any action like. And it wouldn't make me feel any better anyway.
