Who'd be needing a massive payoff? Galtier or McLaren? Carver, Woodman and Stone - all contracted until 2020. Just frame them & then sack them for misconduct. Nee bother. It's clear they hate handing out money. I called this about 10 pages ago. It's such an obvious Ashley move and I reckon that's what could have scuppered any potential deal for Garde. Despite Charver's warnings that if he didn't get the job full time here, he could quit to look for a full time job elsewhere, the flaw in that logic was the idea that anybody else would give him a job as manager.
