Everyones favorite gangsters moll Steve Wraith reckons Rafa being lined up and already spoke to our officials so dont shoot the messenger  :hunter:

I hope this is just another case of Wraith talking out of his arse because I think I'd prefer to keep Pardew to Rafa. And I'm not even joking.

Rafa's teams are just as defensive as Pardew's except he spends a lot more money on assembling the squad. Granted they pass it about a bit better, but there's a reason why he wins cups only. Defensive teams don't tend to beat enough of the shit sides to win leagues.

Benitez is an odd one for me. Amazing what he did in Europe with them but i felt he single handidly prevented them winning the title. He kept screwing about with the team too much.

And tbf, he's hardly got Chelsea playing to any dizzy heights. He's obviously a big name but i do wonder about him (in this league).

You make similar argument about Dalglish & Souness on that basis.

That they have had better managerial careers than Pardew? Undoubtedly.

Obviously I'd take Rafa over Pardew but I don't enjoy watching his teams at all.

I've gone for Martinez as he ticks the most boxes. Prem experience, young, positive football, possibly looking for a new challenge soon, seems very loyal as well based on his career at Wigan. If they go down I think we could get him. Seems odd going after a relegated manager but sometimes you've got to trust your judgement based on the resources available and the football played.

Benitez can actually formulate Tactics and has won the champions league. He's in a different stratosphere to "Pards"

I'm sure Pardew could win the Champions League with the amount of luck Benitez had in that run.

You're gonna struggle with a Benitez vs. Pardew debate tbh. Whatever you think of him - he's tactically very, very sound and would do us a world of good. Not my personal choice but I'd be happy.

Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely take him over Pardew. A couple of things put me off though, the football, and the fact that I don't think it would be a long term appointment as he'd be looking for the next pay day with a CL regular. If we really want stability we need a good, positive young manager who can grow with the club imo.

I've heard that he's being replaced by Rafa, I come in here and I'm reading it here too. The same guy reporting this had info on the French recruitment programme before it happened. Interesting
