Skeletor
We can turn this around. As good as they are going forward they are very brittle defensively. Pardew needs to set up a team to take advantage of their high line and get in behind them.
Guest magtrev
Luck wasn't in tonight. Could have been a different result. But saying that we threw that game away. Last 2 goals were ridiculous. Back pass from Santon was a joke didn't even look. And same old Taylor, hand ball them pretend to be hit in the nuts. But on another note. Bale with a broken ankle. Wowwwww
LV
Two posts away from 3-3 away...we can do this at home tbh. yeah... but basically you just did 3 shots on target. The goal, and 2 that hit the posts. Benfica played better It would have been a different story if we had been 2-0 up I think.
Jayson
Two posts away from 3-3 away...we can do this at home tbh. yeah... but basically you just did 3 shots on target. The goal, and 2 that hit the posts. Benfica played better You were gifted two goals from nothing, you have no place to say anything. You fluked your way out of a draw, let alone the posts saving you from defeat.
Quailman
We were extremely unlucky with those two chances! All the decisions went Benifca's way. But you can't take it all away from the good performance from every Newcastle player - there were mistakes from Taylor and Santon that were costly and MYM and Simpson also almost cost us more, but the rest of the team did well considering who they were up against. 2-0 @ St James' .... done
joeyt
Most frustrating this is that our mistakes led to our own downfall. If we'd lost 4-0 then it might be easier to take because we'd been outplayed but if/when we get knocked out we can only blame ourselves
Wilson
f***ing awful. We are shocking, truly shocking team.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
Completely gave up at 3-1. Usual gutless shite after a promising start. Out next week for sure, even if we go 2-0 up we'll allow them back into game as had been the story all season. Out of the cup and we'll be lucky to stay up. Ginola
2-0 win at St James' needed then... Not really confident about that at all. I'm not confident but it's certainly possible. Had we not gifted them two goals and had a bit more luck ourselves with Cisse's two that hit the post the scoreline could have been 3-1 to us. They were probably the better team overall but there's certainly chances to be had against them
Guest bimpy474
I think we are well in this, especially if we start well and score early next Thursday.

toontownman
Some great performances undone by a couple of suicidal ones. Hope haidara is back soon. Santon hasnt been at the races in months. Yet another poor mistake that loses us a game and quote likely the tie. I feel for him but only he can sort himself out. Absolutely shocking at present. Chrisjraby
Hopefully we get a strong ref for the second leg (), those fuckers are going to spend most of the game on the floor trying to break the game up
Numbers
We can beat these at home tbh, 2 avoidable goals conceded they look nowt special we should have had at least another 2. Pards will prepare the team for 0-0.
thomas
Clearly a controlled demolition from the inside.
Jordan
We're out. Deal with it. Yet another farce in this farcical season.
Lotus
Think Benefica are quite dodgy at the back. Still, don't think we've got enough to win the tie.
nufcjb
Judging on the Benfica players reaction, they know they won by two or maybe three lucky goals and they know the tie ain't over yet.. But I do..fuck off Santon u prick..and u too Saylor
Tsunami
We've just fucked up a great chance of getting through. School Boy errors. Wtf Saylor; you just have to stop doing that type of thing.
Guest Phil K
Self destruction. The only thing Pardew seems to bring out of teams he manages. All a fascist plot obviously !
stozo
Frustrating but we were just unlucky with a few individual errors. Just got to make sure we go at them at SJP now.

sempuki
Think we have blown it unfortunately. Have to get a result against Fulham first before we think about next Thursday.
SteveMc
woke up at 3am to watch two c***s make errors that you can hardly call schoolboy errors because even schoolboys dont do the s*** our defence comes up with don't bother next week ladyboy
Flip
We're out. Deal with it. Yet another farce in this farcical season. Fuck that, if the fans can get behind the team at SJP there's no reason whatsoever why we can't beat them at home, especially when we've beaten Chelsea there after being down 2-1 and beaten Man U there 3-0 only 12 months ago. Gotta keep the hope.
